HELP

I like STW, I really do, played the board game with family and friends as a kid... I don't like the MP as I have never played it. Really frustrating having nothing more than Logon Error to go by. My username, Password, House, and CD-Key are all correct. I have gone through the registration process far too often. I only keep trying because I have heard so many good things about online play. I'm about ready to fall on my sword because of the frustration involved in playing online.

Any suggestions as to why I might not be able to log on are greatly appreciated.

Do you have plain Shogun Total War or the Warlords Edition (includes the Mongols) of the game? It matters in that they are different servers and most (if not all) are on the Warlords server.

STW server.
Never been able to get on to it myself. EA support just messes around.
NO one seems inclined to say that the server for STW does not exist any longer. This is my Opinion. I dont know it for fact but as far as it seems to me ( in that ive never seen anyone say recently that they can get onto the server) the server is gone

Please correct me if im wrong.

However the server for STW WE/MI is still running.

If anyone can get on the STW server please post that you can so at least we know there is one there but i doubt you will.

Oh yes you cant return the game to where you bought it from even though it advertises that you can play on line against other people because the server is an external part of the game you bought.

OK, thanks for the heads up about versions. As it turns out I have on STW; however, it seems I have somehow registered Shogun TotalWar : Mongol Invasion. I do not know how, and wish I could change it but I only used the info on the cd case that came with the game.

see thread in sword dojo. I asked your question there. seems like there may be a work around to get on the we/mi shogun server.

Of course you may not be able to play those using we/mi but it would at least allow people with STW to play each other.
I would suggest posting a thread over there saying your looking for a game of STW to find others with same problem and arange to meet up to play.

We have to sort of do that for we/mi anyway as its a bit quiet sometimes.

Thanks for the help Cetlan, now the message states I have an invalid CD Key, I suppose that is a step in the right direction. I think I'll go to EA with this one.
