I am purple/byz
difficulty hard

i have the largest army & income & most happy people
but...i get rebels all the time. normally there is very high tax in almost every province(i have auto taxing on) but sometimes EVERY province turns yellow or red...well not every one but a lot near each other so i guess theres spies at work, but i need to get like 1/2 of my army on spots where they wont do ANYTHING usefull untill there is a rebelling province nearby. what can i do to get these spies outta my terratory? at first spain was sending the spies(i guess) so i invaded spain and then the problem was over, but now its starting all over again...this is also empty-ing my treasure, i only have like 7k left.

chances are you're close to conquering the map.

is your King isolated from those rebellious territories?

Auto-taxing?

How does that work? That would save me a LOT of time. Can anyone explain that?

select the auto-tax option from your campaign automation menu (the button is located on the right side of the mini-map.)

there you can also find options for many things.

I don't use autotax, and never have had the revolts some people describe. Perhaps the autotax threshold should be changed in the command line. Usually, I'll never let loyalty drop below 170%.

and a pic of how it is supposed to be...and to show you my elite generals;) my armies are getting thin though, battling spain, the french, the aragonese and the italians at the same time=bad for the average soldier:)

No, they won't be. Switching to 1.1 is perfectly safe. I recommend patching.

updating to 1.1 kinda ruined the game for me? my supportcosts went up crazy and i now loose 1800 florins each turn instead of 200.

Sorry. I seemed to recall that unit upkeep costs were quite the same between 1.0 and 1.1

Yup, i had this trouble many a times with rebellions everywhere. The key is the patch.
Never got any probs with V1.1.

IIRC, the upkeep probs are from Katafraktoi, i think they changed in V1.1.

Take my advice, (and i know you won't like it), start again with the patch. http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif
