Dismounting

Can anyone tell me how to dismount in MTW. I have followed the thread in the main hall but it does not say how to do it and as a new user I can't yet post there. Thanks

Hi there,

you dismount your horsemen during the army setup phase, before you click on start battle. Select the cav unit you wish to dismount (must be a dismountable one, not all cav are), then then right click on its icon. The dismount option in the following menu should be enabled, clicking on it will do just what it says. http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif

You do it exactly as Brutal said but remember that you can mount em again after a dismount..

I can't either... I think it's related if you are attacker or deffender, or in a castle, or somethinglike that.

The keys to remember are that you have to mount/dismount before the battle starts and not all cav units can dismount.

even there, some can't do it: eg. Horse Archers
