Hi, I just have a couple of questions about the MedMod.

I did a fresh install of MTW v1.1 and then installed MedMod v1.85. Upon running it, a window pops up with the title, ArabInfantry and the error message...

Unknown unit name parsing deadpage coords file..

After clicking ok, the game starts and seems to run fine. Is this normal or have I done something wrong somewhere?

Secondly, looking in MM Charts and Readmes folder, there is a file called, New units.txt with a list of a whole bunch of new units. In the game however, I cannot find any of these new units. Are these a placeholder for something in the future or left over from another mod or something?

I know there is a mod called, no units but I'm pretty sure this is not the one as I was under the impression that was for VI only.

Perhaps the missing units are due to the error message?

Any help with this would be appreciated.

I think the error message might be harmless, and we'll have to see about the no units thing. WesW mentions no units and to ignore it but I'm not sure it is the same as what you are asking.

Thanks for the links. I did do a search b4 posting but those topics didn't come up for some reason. Probably because I searched for MedMod rather than Wes Mod or Medieval Mod.

Anyway, it seems the arab infantry error message is not a problem.

I'm still wondering about these new units though. I was under the impression that the no units version of the MedMod for VI meant that there were no added units but it seems the version for v1.1 has no added units either so I'm totally confused.

Okay, for your last question, how about this (http://www.totalwar.org/cgi-bin/forum/ikonboard.cgi?act=ST;f=5;t=8857) topic? Jeff appears to be seeing plain old MTW with no new units. See WesW's fix for the problem.

Thanks for the link but I had already read it. I haven't tried individually copying files over but I shouldn't think that should make any difference and WesW has said himself that as long as u install it to the folder above Medieval - Total War it should install fine.

Note, the mod is working in that all the changes in the readme are there. I'm just wondering what the file
New units.txt is there for and whether there are supposed to be any added units in the mod or not.

I had a similar problem with 1.85 mod and regular 1.1 medieval. However I had tried adding Steppe heavy cav by copying the files from another installation of VI, then I got the error parsing deadcoords message. Whoops.

But I read in another post that Wes had mistakenly left VI crusader text in his mod. I thought he had fixed that...

No not yet but I expect he's busy with the version with the all new unit line up.

It's not of vital importance - it's not stopping me from playing the mod or anything so I'm not in any rush http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif

I'm having the same problem with the deadpage coords file.

Also when I start a new campaign, about 1/2 way into loading the campaign map I get Attempted to place a unit in a region owned by a faction with a different cultural origin error and then get dumped to desktop.

I've read all the above links and havent seen anything about this second error. Several times I have reinstalled the game, patched to v1.1, and then run MedMod1.85 from a fresh download. I get the same errors every time.

The mod sounds great and I'm dying to try it out so any help appreciated.
