How can I add a building that needs a trade good as a resource? Everytime that I try, it tells me that "wine" is not a resource and the game won't load.

Also, I am trying to add a heretic church and priest that would allow the Bohemians to be Heretic and spread their version of christianity. How can I restrict it to be only heretic? When I set the required religion, it tells me that heretic is not valid.

Thanks

yeah, i could also use a bit of help here, i tried adding a mother house to my Imperial mod, to create my Algarian Guards there, basing it on the chapter house.
1/ couldn't get the line into the prod13 file easily, gnome editor kept not recognising it, when i copied and pasted the chapter house line.
2/ i duplicated all the pics in camp map unit icons and review panel for chapter house and renamed them mother house, but kept getting a weird picture come up
3/ added new lines into loc/eng names and descriptions for the mother house, but kept getting could not translate messages.

so what exactly am i doing wrong?

a resource is Iron or anything that needs a mine eg silver or copper

do you mean pagan instead of heretic as that is the religion you have to enter i think, i never tried pagan priests

I doubt very much that a heretic faction is doable, though I could be wrong. They aren't a recognised culture, see, while Pagan, Catholic, Orthodox and Muslim are.

It is possible to have a Jewish and Heretic piece and that raises the population percentage of that type.

Religion hasd nothing to do with culture. Culture is just the type of buildings that appear for a faction I beleive. You can actually have 5 different religions, Catholic, Muslim, Pagan, Heretic and Jewish that, I believe, can work with any culture. I have used Patricks Civil Rights Mod a long time ago and it actually had a Jewish faction with churches and Rabbis that used Orthodox culture. I just can't find it to see how he propogated faith using the buildings for the jewish faction so I can use it for heretic. Right now, I have the Bohemians coming up with the little burning bibles, but they suffer a lot of catholic uprisings because they can't "convert" the citizens to their faith.

On the resource thing, has anyone figured out how to add a new resource? I would like to add some so I can bring in some of the disabled buildings to help the AI with money some more without having to rely on trade. If I remember, someone added "forest" as a resource but I can't find out how it was done.

Sorry, I forgot to thank everyone for their answers so far, I appreciate all of the help that I get on these boards and hope to actually have a mod worth posting sometime soon.

You can't add resources, they are hardcoded in.

A thought might be to "convert" all silver mines to gold mines or just eliminate the copper mines. In the campaign text file you could put copper as a resource in BOhemia, with the buildable building being a heretic church rather than a copper mine.

You can also require 2 resources to be present (copper and silver) for example to build a heretic church. You can also require either copper or silver to be present to build a heretic church.
