First , let me say this

BEFOERE ANYONE MAKES ANY SORT OF PUBLIC POSTING ON ANY CLAN BOARD OR AT THE ORG.....

PLEASE CHECK YOUR FACTS.....

FOR THOSE WHO DONOT KNOW

MY NAME IS DoUrden

Fomer member of SPQR

And ranked Sennator , second top rank..jsut down from clan leader....

(A) There are times when people act in ways they feel are jsutifed , as long as the END meets the MEANS

This is sadly not jsut , nor honourable

(B) When asked what the most important weapon any General can have at his disposial , SUN TZU answered
INFORMATION
http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/smokin.gif
NOT , Swords , NOT Bows ....INFORMATION

© THis is becouse information can MAKE or destroy anyone and anything....................

REcently , over the last few weeks , Myself and SPQR{sennator/Trainner}__SUlla , have been acting to Reform the clan we love SPQR to its greater days..

Due to MISUDNERSTANDINGS amoungst members of the MTW comunity ,, and arguement broke out over a RECRUITS name,

AS the name was already in use by an EX memebr

......

Surifce to say , the topic HAS been well and trully COVERED and SORTED.....

THE SAD THING IS : ONE EX MEMBER OF SPQR DECIDED THAT NOT ONLY WAS HE GOING TO THROW IN HIS TWO BITS WORTH , HE WOULD TRY TO DESTROY ::M:E:: by slander , and lies....

Turns out this EX member honestlyt believed what he was saying.......

BUT :: EXMEMBER was WRONG...

He confusewd me with a member from another clan who bears
{FUNNY ISNT IT..kinda IRONIC REALLY} ALMOST the same name as myself..........

IMPRTANT THING IS>>>>>> HE IS NOT ME
>>>>> I AM NOT HIM

so in closign , i have since left SPQR so as to avoid any futher msitakes and slander , how ever well intended.....

PLEASE , everyone , check your facts , then double check them.. BEFORE YOU MAKE PSOTINGS REAGARDING ANY OTHE RPLAYER

Inter-clan misunderstandings can certainly cause unnecessary conflict - we've all seen that happen from time to time since STW days. My sympathies for your struggle, m8.

As this topic is more specifically related to clan membership, any problems with my moving this to the Barracks forum, where such business is usually discussed?

Or perhaps SPQR_DoUrden would prefer to re-post there (in the Barracks forum) and delete this one as a duplicate?

When you say EX member, do you mean an ex member of SPQR or and Excalibur clan member. Can you please clarify this as I have seen this mentioned before and i'm not sure if you are refurring to our clan

Thx EX__Nemesis

You seem a bit worked up mate go easy on the caps http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/wink.gif

I wouldn't worry to much about something like this, it's just a game after all - and those whose opinions you care for will stand by you and believe you anyway.

Your last sentence is one that people should take note of http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif

Quote[/b] ]On a dark desert highway

Cool wind in my hair

Warm smell of colitas

Rising up through the air

Up ahead in the distance

I saw a shimmering light

My head grew heavy, and my sight grew dim

I had to stop for the night

There she stood in the doorway
I heard the mission bell
And I was thinking to myself
This could be Heaven or this could be Hell
Then she lit up a candle
And she showed me the way
There were voices down the corridor
I thought I heard them say

Welcome to the Hotel California

Such a lovely place

Such a lovely place

Plenty of room at the Hotel California

Any time of year

You can find it here

Her mind is Tiffany twisted
She's got the Mercedes bends
She's got a lot of pretty, pretty boys
That she calls friends
How they dance in the courtyard
Sweet summer sweat
Some dance to remember
Some dance to forget

So I called up the Captain
Please bring me my wine He said
We haven't had that spirit here
since 1969
And still those voices are calling from
far away
Wake you up in the middle of the night
Just to hear them say

Welcome to the Hotel California
Such a lovely Place, Such a lovely face
They're livin' it up at the Hotel California
What a nice surprise, Bring your alibies

Mirrors on the ceiling
Depict champaign on ice And she said
We are all just prisoners here
Of our own device
And in the master's chambers
They gathered for the feast
They stab it with their steely knives
But they just can't kill the beast

Last thing I remember
I was running for the door
I had to find the passage back
to the place I was before
Relax said the nightman, We are
programed to recieve
You can check out any time you like
But you can never leave

Yeh a bit of overkill by Monkey, i'm a mod and i didn't even read it all http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/wink.gif - he has sucked me into playing it on mp3 tho, so i guess he wins http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif

LOL Tempi http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif

BTW, I give Monkeyman some credits for typing it all. There are a few mistakes of transliteration in it, I don't think he cuts/pastes the original lyrics from somewhere.

For example:
"She's got the Mercedes bends"

should read
"She's got a Mercedes Benz"

I have seen too many clans dissolve into bickering factions, all fighting over something as simplistic as a game. Games are for enjoyment, and whenever someone tries to build something serious around it, things can often go awry.

Elrich of Gaul
07-28-2003, 03:06
Agreed Lehesu, games are for fun. However, I've been part of a clan or another for approx. 4 years. There's nothing like associating yourself with honourable clanmates (those bickering clans you talked about.... let anyone in) and having an outstanding 2v2, 3v3 or 4v4 where everything falls into place due to the constant practice.

I too have seen clans come and go, however, treated correctly, a clan can be just like home...

Vanya

GAH

Vanya recalls waaaay back in the STW era... Vanya joined Chain Clan... just in time to watch it disintegrate due to inter-member differences of opinions.

Vanya played on under the banner of LinkSlice long after the bones of His comrads were swept away by the winds.

Vanya has since only really "joined" one other "clan" in a lackadaisical fashion (also during STW), and used that other name to wage "funny" battles on others. Some of youz might have recalled playing HeartOfSteel, or His ronin contemporary brethren, Sithalkaan. Both were loyal in the service of the Horseman.

Vanya finds clans only really eventful when the members are already a close-knit group. Vanya is not neigbors with anybody in Chain (they being mostly in Europe or Australia, and Vanya hunkering in the shadow of Bush's Crawford ranch). Every clan Vanya joined, soon languished and perished. Mostly, for interpersonal or "political" things.

Which is why Vanya would really only join another clan if He could keep the name "Vanya", and not have to take any crazy naming nomenclature that would require Him to make up new names and register them. (More painful to do in MTW than in the Olde Shoggy days).

And so, Vanya is comfortable with the relative annonimity ronin status grants. Perhaps you too will find it soothing.

Vanya wishes DoUrden luck in recovering from the green bites of his accusers. Vanya has enjoyed a handfull of battles with and against "speaker" members.

Vanya hereby offers DoUrden a gilded skull bowl (taken from a victim that fell to the spear of a peasant general in MP and coated in a mixture of brass and gold) with a hearty portion of the Horseman's own Ramen Noodle BBQ-Scampi Brains quiche, with a a side order of popcorn and a jug of warm sake.

Bon apetit
