This is a copy od my post on the post I sent on the .com forum:
The first thing I noticed, when I started playing MTW campaign: ok, I get an assasin to kill someone, I remember those great ninja films in shogun, I sometimes just opened the folder with 'em and showed them to my friends. so I expected the assasin to have a similar one. I waited...what, no film? I tried again...NO, I can't believe it http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/angry.gif They haven't bothered to make this little short films ARGHHH http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/mad.gif http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/mad.gif http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/mad.gif Well, they made an intro to MTW, thats good. So I bought VI and turned it on. My hand almost mechanically clicked the "New Campaign" button, I chose the Vikings, the game loaded, but....WHAT? NO INTRO? Ok CA, this is it. If you won't make nice films in Rome:TW, I'll....I'll.....ehm....well, I'll think of something by the time rome will be out http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/joker.gif

Deep breaths little videophile, I too missed those wonderful little moments of joy. The one where the nija chucks that double edge thing at two guards and it decapitates one and sticks in the neck of the other is just great...

But if you read the FAQ they have post on the .Org, then you will see that the movies are coming back.

*grinning inanely*

On a slightly different note; wouldn't it be great if your assassins could kidnap people? IE you could kidnap a monarchs only son and demand so and so much gold or this and that city for his release http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif

I'm have absolutely no idea whether or not it happened in the roman times - maybe i've just read too much fantasy http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/tongue.gif - but it'd still be a cool feature. http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif

I felt that MTW was a step backwards.. The small movies and the throne room in STW really helped to improve the game play.. it made me feel like i was in Japan and a powerful ruler..

the battlecrys in mtw were also disappointing in comparison.. it sounded like they had just ripped the sounds from STW and they just didnt seem to fit... did anyone else feel that the music during battles didnt last long enough??

MTW also had too many units..

all these things and others i cant remember reduced the level of fun in MTW.. it also greatly reduced the amount of time i played the game .. 2 months as opposed to the 9 months playing STW...

I hope they fix these problems and bring RTW to the same standards as STW

I liked how the had many different units personally - added to the variety.. Music was great, but after playing so long you just dont notice it i guess... I agree the battlecrys and stuff could have been better done, I hope they improve that part a lot in RTW.

The reason i didnt like have so many units was because it made it harder to develop tactics etc... I think they are reducing the amount of units in RTW to solve the problem..

Agreed the music was great, but after the first couple of mins of the battle the music stopped http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/frown.gif

I don't think they're reducing the number in total-just making all the units available unique to one faction or another. So the Romans will have 20, the Greeks 20, etc. I think this is the best of both worlds-variety will be preserved, but it will be easier to develop tactics for your favourite faction.
