i feel personally that omitting the great duchy of burgandy in europe was a mistake as i think that having a burgandian kingdom would have balanced the gameplay in europe by been between french and german and italian kingdoms and would have made strategy thinking more interesting and than instead of going after each other french and hre they would have to play with third factor of burgandy

secondly khazar state
historically byzantines maintained a friendly relations with khazars who acted as balancing weight between byzantines and muslim empires and other nomad hordes
i feel that if they builtup their kingdom by taking other eastern provinces and clashing with poland and muscovy they would have added dynamism to the campaign map and they on mongol invasion could either absorb it and collapse under it as did other nomad kingdoms did in the same area

they can also act as balance agains byzantines expending into eastern europe too

Hmmm, all I can say is that they already have Burgundy, however for them to appear France has to have a rebellion (or maybe a civil war?) in late period and then they'll appear.

Khazar would be very fun IMHO although you'd be VERY VERY hard pressed to survive the Mongols as they'd hit your capital with something like 30,000 guys. http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/eek.gif If someone wanted to try and mod it I'f give it a shot but realistically I wouldnt plan on surviving long past 1230 with poor-average farmland and a straw strong navy of trade ships.

But if I try'd the PoN on expert pre-VI I'd give these guys a shot a few times...You know I might mod it right now... http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/smokin.gif

In all the game I have played in the last era, I still have never seen the Burgundy guys appear.

Maybe I should play as france http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif

For Burgundy to appear there must be a rebellion in Burgundy around 1400.

You can put Burgundy in if you wish. Just assigned it land, put it in the faction list, either minor or major and assign them heirs.
I play as them quite alot and they are a pretty strong faction.
