Hi there,
Just thought Id share my first ramblings into MTW as Iv been playing STW WE for over a month now and was given MTW as a present yesterday.

Oh cool voice for the tutorials.
Hey this is easier to control the units than STW.
What is that unit and how do I pronounce their name????
Wow those pesants are so much weaker than Yari Ashi.

Into Quick Battle
Yuck who would wear all that yellow (Spanish)
Ohhhhh look at them huge unit of yellow flowers...(fanitics)
Ok what do those Jinets do. Oh no they are going to close. pull back pull back...... what kind of cav skirmishers are you.....
Fanatics they run like scared little girls in yellow dresses. Nice pattern of dead bodies on the floor they have left though.
Wow camels. cool. arrrrrrrrr why wont they die......

Looks like I might have to make choices between STW and MTW now... oh what a hard life lol

Is there anywhere that give a detailed run down on all the units and what they do etc in a more user friendly format than the stat files in the game folder?

For unit stats look here: Clan Berserk (http://shogun.cafe24.com/medieval/). They are correct for the Viking Invasion, but as long as you ignore the new units it's accurate for MTW. There is a downloadable version of the tool on the site somewhere.

There are some unit descriptions and discussions on the orgs Table of Contents (http://www.totalwar.org/cgi-bin/forum/ikonboard.cgi?act=ST;f=7;t=3823)

To get some hints on what NOT to do check out Exactly how bad are you? (http://www.totalwar.org/cgi-bin/forum/ikonboard.cgi?act=ST;f=15;t=8337). This is a highly amusing and informative rundown of stupid stuff done when first playing MTW.

If you can find a copy of the Bradygames guide it has a very good listing of units/ vices and virtues etc. It's probably dirt-cheap by now.

[SALESMAN} May I recommend Bushfaces Medieval Total War and Viking Invasion maps and tech trees? These fine pieces of work are handy whether you have both MTW and VI or if you just have MTW. For absolutely no money you too can have an A4 printable map of the MTW world, accurate down to the last detail with provinces, sea zones, ports, iron, mineable resources and trade goods shown. But wait, there’s more This fine map can be coloured in to show what provinces each faction owns at the start of a game. And just for Sir there is the VI campaign map with all the above information for the Viking campaign. Also coming with the VI map is the VI tech tree. This little beauty will print legibly on A4 unlike the enclosed PDF. It also corrects no less than seven; count them SEVEN, major mistakes on the PDF. If you like Total War you'll love these To apply just send an email entitled MTW STUFF to rff@BLAHBLAHtesco.net (remove the BLAHBLAH, its to cut down on spam) [/SALESMAN] OK, to cut the sales talk they really are that good. Ask for some, you won't regret it

If you think Spanish yellow is bad wait until you see the Aragonise - they are pink and yellow http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/eek.gif
