Actiontrip (http://http://www.actiontrip.com/)
scroll down to the top story in yesterdays news. Not completely sure of the reliability but they seem to be quoting Activision sources. so...

From an article about Activision's pressconference (from HomeLan at http://www.homelanfed.com/index.php?id=15762):
Quote[/b] ]Activision also announced that Rome: Total War, the console Call of Duty game and Quake IV are all currently scheduled to be released in the fiscal 2005 time period.
the fiscal 2005 time period runs from april 2004 to march 2005, so r:tw could well be released at the summer of 2004 (a date that has been mentioned before).
I am not unhappy about this at all. I hope the can spend the time usefully by making a good game.
We can play something else in the meantime.
EDIT: actually it's also not a bad thing I think, becuase the RTW title will be distanced from the MTW title and all the associated bugs and complaints by that time. However this will mean some serious marketing during now and then (e.g demo) to keep people interested. Also I imagine a cash outflow for this period will have to be sustained. What about other games, maybe we will have a better RTW clone by then ?

I hope this is the case, but still, it's not good. Mind you, I'm not really disapointed until someone from CA confirms this.

They should do what they have to do to make the game complete.
I dont mind how long it takes for this game to be completed, the longer they take the better it will be http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif . However i will have trouble waiting untill 2005

Well unfortanately I can understand the long delay and I know some of you who can remember that a few megabytes was a huge game. If you think even 5 years ago the technoligy that went into a PC game compared to today. The more technoligy you have the more you can put into a game but also takes longer to make. Of course they could make the game on simple technoligy but I think too many people would be displeased with the game if it were'nt to todays standards.
Does'nt technoligy just SUCK http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/joker.gif

Let them take their time... build up the game... balance it... squash the bugs... and deliver the best bloody strategy game in history.
I don't mind waiting... I have work and wife to keep me busy in the meantime http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/eek.gif http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/shock.gif http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif

For those of us who have an XBox HALO 2 is going to keep me going, and KotoR.
As long as CA works hard, all is good http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/wink.gif But I hope they release it before my hair starts turning to grey.
