GA is my preferred style of play over the total conquest route, but since the day of release, I've been disapointed in the fact that there are only a handful of non-conquest GAs. I was hoping VI would remedy this but http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/frown.gif Has anyone manged to create a mod with new & improved GAs?

Also, was it decided for certain if the the GAs were still bugged in VI?

I always play GA too myself, and I was wondering how one can mod them : when I tried to play a "new" playable faction in WesW mod (Sicilians), the game crashed when I hit the GA button http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/frown.gif
So I had a look in all files and searched "GloryGoals" (their "code name") in the various txt files : but alas I only found references in Buildings file (for building-based goals), and in the Loc message files... Nowhere are the GA defined AFAIK, they're hardcoded and can't be edited.

Maybe I missed stg, if some more knowledgeable modder could confirm or deny...

GAs can be edited, but just the ones related to the Homelands. I modded my game and replaced the aragonese with the portuguese. I then edited the regowner_table file to give Portugal as a homeland for my new faction. So these GA objectives are not Hardcoded.

However, the dates used to calculate the GA points are not moddable.

Portuguese Rebel,
Thanks for the tip At least it allows for avoiding crashes with new faction GAs, even if "real" new GAs can't be added http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/frown.gif
Is the Regowner_table file a txt file editable with Notepad (or any editor) ? I thought it was a structured data file http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/confused.gif

BTW I also think there is more than just the dates that are hardcoded : for example if you play High Russian, you'll start with a set of GAs (Homeland + Conquest only), then in 1225 you have a new set (survive the Horde)...
GAs are in fact somewhat dynamic.
