I would like to know, how exactally do I add a building to the game, this is vital to plans I have, I have tried and tried but the Gnome reader always reports a problem when I boot it up in that, help is GREATLY appreciated.

ok,

This is not an easy task.
I am making the techtree for the Nap mod and this means adding and changing the build_prod.

It is very tricky.
So far, I have the game that boot and work fine until going to the campmap and then...hell....

So I can help you to figure out some stuff.
What are you tryin to achieve ?precisely.

I'm trying to add some new buildings (Lumberjacks etc.) and porbably editting the current ones slightly.

i've managed to add one new building so far, but i'll admit that here it is not so much a new building but a modification of an existing one.

applying the same principle used by kekritirae for her unit mod, just copy and paste the line of a near match building in the notepad form, then edit as appropriate in gnome.
you also need to change the bifs. but only in the campmap, just copy the bif for whatever building you duplicated and rename it. there should be 3 bifs i think. one is the icon that appears at the bottom, one is the graphic that appears on the parchment, and one doesn't appear to be used, but crashes the game if its not present
i've added a guard house based on the chapter house to create some of my new units from. the only thing i've yet to be able to do is make the building give you valour/moerale etc bonuses and give you income, unless it already existed on there. still trying though.

i freely admit that this doesn't help create entirly new buildings, but the procedure is similar.

The problem has been solved. Copy and paste everything from Port to New_Brothel and paste it underneath what is already there, caution, there MUST be a space at the bottom of the page. If anyone has problems I shall post a more in-depth explanation.

What happen if you don't have a space?

I presume you mean, what happens if you dont need another building to edit into something new. You can simply delete that entry from the file. I am presuming you can copy a building line bit by bit, I however have not tried this.

i think he meant what happens if you don't have a space at the bottom of the file.
and LeBob, i think what happens is the file won't load or be read properly, so the game doesn't load and gives an error message.

Ah right. I've tried it with and without the space at the bottom of the file and with it I have seen it work everytime, without it I have seen it never read the file.
