Hello Ladies and Gents,
Over in the dungeon some people have expressed their opinions on my new campaign map and I would like to respond to a couple comments. One comment was that my website has been reaching its maximum bandwidth. To solve this problem, I put it on the .org download site below:

http://www.totalwar.org/Downloads/Mtw_Uploads/MTWupload/

Another question is that the Yemeni faction runs into Oman and thus inaccurate. I did this intentially so that each faction had at least 2 starting provs. Finally, I do not own VI and will not buy it because I do not see the point, so making these new maps VI compatible will just have to take some time to update the text files that is included in my download. Please note I am just answering some comments that other people have made and I am not venting or mad at people. If anyone has any questions, comments, or some suggestions, please feel free to email me at natesmiller@yahoo.com. Thanks for taking the time to download my mod.

Welcome SirNate Good job, your mod seems to have generated some interest. I've copied your post into the thread discussing your mod and referred them to this thread.

Thanks for the warm welcome. I know that the mod sucks, modern borders, inaccuracies, and the such, but this was just a test to see if it worked and since it does, I posted it for everyone to see. The next one I am making will be the Iberian Map where three factions: Aragon, Spanish, and the Alomohads will duke it out for control. All I need to do to make it accurate is rename the provs amd create the map. The units and starting provs or land areas are already in the game for me to simplily move over. Hopefully this one will go better. I will continue to post all my responses hear, so check back later or email me from the first part of the thread.

Any Screenshots?

Sigh Don't such individuals who offer such benale questions realise that a simple and short download would be the answer?

Hi SNoW,

I downloaded your mod several weeks ago (after your E-Mail) and I can confirm it works fine in MTW 1.1

I had no problems whatsoever.

I've been absent from this group for many weeks (months?) now and having checked many threads I see there is a lot of renewed interest in MTW/VI campaign maps and the requirements for producing such, but also a lot of FUD (Fear/Uncertainty/Doubt).

This FUD permeates itself in both this forum and also in The Dungeon. So, let me try to put the record straight. What exactly IS the truth?

The current situation is as follows -

- SNoW's mod works fine - and if it does'nt on your PC it's a result of something the recipient is doing wrong
- MANY individuals have produced new MTW campaign maps that are usable within MTW 1.0 or MTW 1.1
- many of these new campaign maps have been produced via LMM3 or LMM4
- A LOT OF WORK is currently ongoing to produce new MTW campaigns for the VI expansion (and, to my knowledge, a lot of progress has been made in this respect)
- a new version of LMM (LMM5) will be released shortly and this version is intended to do ALMOST EVERYTHING that is required for creating new campaigns for MTW 1.0 or MTW 1.1
almost
- when the modders. who are working damn hard to crack VI, produce their final results then a version of LMM5 will be provided that creates all campaign stuff for both VI and MTW

Anyone who supposes that there is no mod that incorporates a new campaign map is ... er ... mistaken New campaign maps (and simple mods) were provided by several individuals who utilised LMM3v3 5 months ago. SNoW has also provided a superb different mod in this repsect - which is what this thread is about.

If any patron is unaware that the capability to produce such mods currently exists, then

- re-read SNoWs comments and download his mod
- check the Dungeon frequently (especially the stickied threads) to ascertain what is happening and what people are doing and providing

Welly

Also, many thanks for the kind words of Wellington. Currently, I am deciding whether or not to produce the Middle East Map Mod for 2.0 or should I concentrate on my Iberian Penninsula Mod. Anyways, I have someone who will hopefully send me the text files that came with VI so that the MEM Mod will work for VI, until then, my Iberian Penninsula Mod is in the Alpha phase. The map with 98 regions has been created. What is left is to add region names on the map and create the campaign file. This map is not like my first attempt, but a blown up picture of the Iberian Penninsula in the actual game. My release will include an early, high, and late campagins that mirror the actual game with the Spanish, Argaonese, and the Alomohads. The only difference is that each faction will start out with more regions than the original game. This makes it historically accurate and a twist with only 4 factions, the Pope is included. The real twist is that there is no water in the mod, so keeping what you own and building farms will keep you financially solvent, but if people riot against this action, I may add some sea regions, though the sea regions may be 3x the size of the land region and not gameplay worthy. Anyways, check this thread in the next week for more news about MEM possibly going to VI and the introduction of the IP Mod. Farewell.

Well, I forgot that Yahoo has a firewall that will not let you grab files from an outside source, my webpage is www.geocities.com/gpinfoservices. Sorry about that.
