That is truly an epic battle, one which the minstrels will be singing about for a long time...too bad you lost in subsequent battles, as the losers rarely get to write the history books...

But to kill 3692, taking only 1153 is impressive in itself...but considering your total force was only about 1700 and theirs must have been close to 4000. I am in awe.

actually i got more than 3500 troops in that region which is kai, but i only used that 1700 troops http://www.totalwar.org/ubb/biggrin.gif then i lost, they sent me these marvellous 8000 troops, hmm this is my first time in hard, not yet in expert. wondering what is expert like. 10,000 vs 40,000?

How do you disable the timer? I am using old STW (not WE/MI). Otherwise, I don't think the 8000 would get on the screen...

I am playing on hard now, but I just started. My largest battle is like 1300 vs 1000. I am a little afraid of these monster battles, but I don't want them to timeout just when they are getting good...

gaining honor during battle is easy (great job, Ozone!) but I often find it doesn't carry over beyond the battle. Remember your Daimyo will automatically be combined with ten new guys, which will probably bring his honor down to maybe 4 or 5.

I don't know exactly how the Hatamoto reinforcement is done, but I know that you can never LOSE honor this way.

well the honour on my daimyo is on 8 now, because of the reinforcement, btw khan7 yes he was alone, quit amazing how he survived ehh? well u want to disable the timer, go to options , game and look near the bottom of the page and voila, untick it. btw my spec is athlon 1400 mh with 512 mb of sdram, g3, and the battle was pretty much screwed laggy like hell imagine 1600 v 4800 and that is screwed real bad.. i gotta upgrade my mobo to ddr ram pc 333,

A related question is. What is the highest honor that you get from REGULAR unit? Seriously understrengthed one doesn't count. For instance, 4 ashigaru.

Theoretically it would be unlimited, or perhaps 256.. yeah 256 or 255, or perhaps a range from -126 to +127.. sounds like a good theoretical range.

As far as how high will you actually get in the game? Not that high, I'll tell you that. Not without cheating..

I once had a hatamoto with honor 10 AFTER reinforcement, but I must admit the Daimyo had rank 6, so real unit honor was "just" 7.

Well done on that(only if u are playing expert level though) I myself have reached an honour level of 11 a few times myself but only when the Hatamoto guard was severely depleted and like the previous comment stated "try keeping it".On another topic about daimyos what is the longest lived daimyo any of u have had in an expert level campaign .I have tga shots of Uesugi Toomooki at age 105 8) he fathered a child at 96 years of age too(the randly old bugger) and in honour of his name I managed to achieve the shogunate for him by about 1590 i think it was.This was done starting at 1530 on expert campaign level and I didnt once regress to a saved status when I lost a battle or made a tactical error.I like to sit back and watch the struggle for shogun unfold it gets too boring if u just mass produce troops and swarm all over Japan.
