I haven't been home most of the day, but i'll have some free time tonight so sure... no problem. I'll take a few screens of my current Julii Campaign and have them hosted and put here by tomorrow morning. until then... :book:

The people under the rule of the Julii live their lives happily, war is far from their minds. The only "barbarians" they have seen, are those who have fought and died in the arena.

Hey Monk How did u see the city without any battles or anything?
Double click on any settlement to bring up the settlement info screen, along the left hand side of the info scroll you should see a row of buttons, press the one that looks like a scroll to bring up the income and loyalty details, at the far left of this scroll, you'll see a button with a magnifying glass, click that and you'll zoom down onto the selected city. When you are done looking over your city, hit Esc and then "Return to campaign map"
It has no real strategic value...but it is quite fulfilling to zoom in on one of your cities and watch your citizens running about their day to day lives with no threat of attack.

My last campaign was with the Almohads (expert, high). I had a massive war with the Danes, and they took Portugal. My 4-star spy caused a rebellion and the Spanish re-emerged. They had re-emerged earlier as well, but I had annihilated them.
Now this is where it gets funky. The Spanish king was 12 years old!! ~
The juvenile delinquent charged at me with his royal knight retinue, his oversized armour clinking. I dispatched him quickly with AUM and merc FMAA. Does that make me a child killer? :devilish:

first you have to go to the shortcut that you normally open Medieval with, right-click on it and then left click properties, that should bring up a window. there should be a line named "target" and it will have the path where the Medieval tw .exe file is and loads from. it should also be in "" marks. outside the marks add "-ian" (without the ") make sure there's a single space seperating them.
-ian is a debug mode and unlocks the camera; allowing you to move very close and move way up in the air. it also allows you to change factions by the use of the number pad. it works in sp and during replays but doesn't work in mp.
i hope that was clear enough... it's been quite some time since i played mtw.

i don't remember the exact numbers, but i remember it was something like 17k killed in the actual battle, another 6,000 were taken prisoner on the battlefield. Having their Khan killed in battle and nowhere to retreat to, the survivors (who were only those who escaped my warriors chase) were put to the sword. The horde was obliterated, both in the battle and it's aftermath. The battle took around 9-12 hours of fighting, the Mongols kept doing hit and runs with their Horse archers. Plus i had to take time out to eat and sleep so it took me about two days to actually fight the whole thing.
On an interesting Side note, the 300 who survived the battle were the finest examples of warriors to the Viking name. They were split up after the Great Khazarian war, and sent to different parts of the world to take the fight to the Enemies of the crown. The few who survived would always hold themselves apart from other warriors, they never were gathered into other units or went into retraining, instead they fought by themselves looking for honor; only trusting those that had survived that hell with them to fight by their side.
Many would fall in the War for Constantinople fought against the Egyptian Empire, many more would die in the colonization of England, yet in both life in death, they always carried with them the spirit of true warriors, proud vikings who finally found their rest after honorable lives.
Might i ask how you saved midbattle?? :D
I didn't. Simply used the Pause button :book:

In real life, I am more of a dog person than a cat person, but not in R:TW. I don't like R:TW's dogs since they are annoying to a human player, overly effective against the A.I. and you can't learn them tricks. Or can you? ~:)

A Bridge too Far
In the series: "Brigde Battles: How not to do it" I present you a battle between Numida and Carthage, making use of the Community Mod of CeltiberoMordred. Note how Carthage managed to get all its units stuck on the bridge with only a few men effectively fighting but all receiving missile fire; how they failed to make use of the second river crossing (while Numida used it to insert their agile cavalry behind Carthagian lines) and how they chose completely the wrong moment to cross with their elephants.

Fitness was an imporant part of Roman army training. Here we see Hastati doing stretch excercises just before battle.

The rebel javelineer just left and below the center either dropped his knife or is trying to cut the hastati's toes off. I can't find another explanation for this picture.

Nice picture guys.
I have this one screenie I really like. This is in Burgundy. What's special about this is that the attacker (my enemy, danes) decided to take a break in the middle of battle, put in reinforcements but then challenged my troops to a staring contest instead. It lasted til the time ran out lol. Well, they killed about 500 of my men and I killed about 1000 of them. We both had a number ( I can't remember exactly) of troops in total as you can see I had about 34 reinforcement left and they had more than me. I guess the general knew that he'd lose lots of men if he continued the battle. I can always finish big battles in the future but this event is rather rare. This is my first ever staring contest lol.
Anyway, here it is. It's pretty movie-like if you know what I mean lol.

If I may have a request I'd like to see some Samaritan Missile Cavalry. Is movie cam possible in RTW ?
Impressive. How did you do it?
R:TW does have a movie camera, athough it only works during replays. You can find instructions on it's use here (http://www.twcenter.net/forums/showthread.php?t=45874). Additional instructions are that you can remove the blue lines and the text with spacebar and num lock. Don't press the T button, it messes up the controls.
Sorry I should have mentioned that move is not by me, it's by Sin329 (https://www.youtube.com/user/sin329) (<-link) . I posted it as thanks for you posting screens.
Can I post requests here ? Samaritan cavalry ? Post anything you want to, but as you may recall I love cavalry !

Alan Nobles belong to Saka Rauka ?
Alan Nobles are a regional unit: both Sarmatians and Saka can recruit them if they own the appropriate provinces. Alans were a distinct steppe people, but the EB team decided that should either the Sarmatians or the Saka subjugate them, the Alans would simply join their conquerors' confederacy. AFAIK that is what usually happened when one steppe people was conquered by another.
The screenshot is nice, but I don't like the signatures. They're rather dark, and it's hard to tell what is edited and what is from the original mod. Perhaps I should add though that I generally don't like heavily-edited or heavily-contrasted pictures.
Constructive, thanks. I appreciate this.
Tell me what you think of these (not all made by me):

Very good! First one is very good, but I would blur the neck-line and the horses mane. Second one is fine, but the format of the mod's name is rather dull. I like the third one best because it's got the best logo and the most subtle light effect, but it's a pity the knight looks very vanilla. Fourth one is too blurred for my taste, but not bad either.
Edit: if you want to get some more feedback, you could post them over at the Picture-of-the-Week forum at the TWC (M2:TW section).
Thanks for the feedback. Nope I know a better place than that, the .com forums. I posted that Mamluk image there and it's taken the place y storm now EVERYONE wants to produce images like that. lol. The screenshot thread there moves at about half a page a day, full of screens. But I think the TWC is great too, they have a whole sub forum for screenshots ONLY. Personally I don't think that's good for circulation I prefer how it is at .com, right in the middle of the m2:TW forum where everyone can see it. After all we all do this for others pleasure not just our own.
The knight has almost nothing from vanilla, there's no knight in vanilla with that barding and no knight in vanillla with Kingdom of Jerusalem coat of arms (which you can see if you look very closely). There is no light effect on that image, although it gives that illusion. The knight also has different armor (vanilla helmet is square). The effect used there is gaussian blur. I like that one, it's the best of those four IMHO. The text however offsets the nice logo by being too vague and unclear.
Unforunately I have'nt done any new shots so have nothing to post.. actually I did one:

Is that an actual screenshot from M2TW?
This is the orginal screenshot, taken by Kobi from Israel, on my request (note how the screenshot is centered, as if taken by the rider in the middle). This is an excellent screenshot by itself:

Some very good (And funny) screenshots you have there gaiusmarius8 and hannibalbarc.
hannibalbarc; I liked the last two screens. THe second last was a sort of 'Survive Against the Horde' scneario and the last one was THE Horde (If you get what I mean) Both good screens.
gaiusmarius8; I also liked the last two. You should name them Barbarian Ninjas; perfect timing is what I say. Very good.

Actually he was there just one turn before me, while we both build our own siege equipment.
(1) The Pope wasn't doing very well. He had a failed wall climbing assault at dawn. The lights on the wall comes from the defenders' torch.
142
(2) You can see many corpses lying on the wall. And hey, there seems to be some on the ladder.
143
(3) Indeed. Many died while they were climbing. Their body is still stuck with the ladder! Pretty cool.
144
(4) Gosh, that's some ugly death.
