This may have been discussed already so forgive me but I cant find the discussion.
Since returning I have been learning, watching etc etc and trying to gather information.
I was browsing through some battle records and found discrepancies in the "koku" department. Now why is that? here are a few examples:-

.1 Ii DHeartofWar The Dragon Hearts Defense 5600 0 Playing
2 Nasu WingedNazgul wraiths Attack 7000 0 Playing

1 Usami Darealruler E-town Defense 4800 492 Won
2 Terazawa ShintoSoul Gate Of Universes Attack 6000 487 Lost

What is going on with the koku? surely people dont drop 1200 or so koku on the way back from the cashpoint??

Why does this happen.

Thanks for your help...

Boromir...

I assume [and you do know that assume makes an as* of you and me http://www.totalwar.org/ubb/smile.gif]...

That the value is based on the CURRENT koku value of the armies. Kill enough people, units honour goes up, value increase and value goes up conversly lose enough people (not nessarily the battle) and your koku value goes down.

Victory first, Battle last.

i can't see any errors in any of the logfiles here,
perhaps the 'server' is failing to calculte the value of a unit with upgrades correctly?

I think the server is not logging correctly thats all. It didn't affect the honour computation (not that I care). As for the log file, I think the koku calculation is based on the old wm and musk values, so if you buy wm and musk, you get a recorded koku that is smaller than the actual u spent (I think).

yeah I noticed it too and I at first thought it was the armour and stuff caus thats kind of not in the initial cost of paying for the unit plus honour.Caus the logfiles always record how much koku was spent on the units, I dont think it records the "extra" suplement of upgrades.....dunno really??

Well... just to clarify... Log files have a number of errors in them...
1. The total troop count is wrong, as it is always a number based on n 60 man units. It does not account for unit sizes other than 60 or units of less than 60 men (ie, Kensai).
2. Honor listed is the ending honor, not the starting honor. So, as somebody already said, if the unit gains honor your calc is wrong.
3. The koku spent in the logfile itself is wrong because it never factors in the armor/weapon upgrades -- only honor upgrades are factored in.

There are some other errors and deviances that I have found over the course of developing my log reader. Fortunately, most of them have been dealt with and corrected programatically in my log reader (including ALL of the above). http://www.totalwar.org/ubb/biggrin.gif

And yes... for you skeptics, the log reader does have a means of estimating initial honor... sure its not perfect, but heck, its better than nothin'! http://www.totalwar.org/ubb/eek.gif
