View Full Version : Dumb Question About Fire Arrows
I just bought the VI expansion a couple of days ago, and I get flaming catapults without a problem. But whenever I just archers during a siege the never shoot fire arrows. How is this done?

Make them Shoot a Wooden Wall of a Fort or a house or something... Stone Walls of course unable to be burnt down with simple arrows.
And fire arrows are never used against enemy soldiers, only those wooden walls and huts and stuff.
Ok, that makes sense. Thanks for the help.

Whoa, i've never heard of fire catapults. Is it the same principle? They only light the projectile on fire when attacking a wooden structure? Dang, if thats true maybe i'll actually build catapults once in a while http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/tongue.gif
Same for trebuchets and the like?
As far as flaming catapults, they were used. But as far as flaming trebuchet projectiles, I don't think it was ever done do to the fact that the sling would burn up.
What I was wondering do those buildings on the battlefield and inside castles have any purpose. Seems like they do a little something inside the castles. Looks like huts have people in them that throw out stuff occasionally to hit your nearby soldiers but I don't have the graphics at full so is that what's going on?

They throw flaming torches. It's a waste of time to kill the buildings inside the walls and the only purpose for fire arrows is knocking down palisade walls.
