Hi jimmy, welcome to the Org http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/wave.gif

We don't have a CD full of mods & patches (tho' that's not a bad idea).

If you have a look in the Dungeon (where the mod-makers hang out)
http://www.totalwar.org/cgi-bin....=SF;f=5 (http://www.totalwar.org/cgi-bin/forum/ikonboard.cgi?act=SF;f=5)
you'll get an idea (maybe) of what you're looking for.

Then, going here
http://www.totalwar.org/Downloads/MTW/Stats.shtml
(one of our download pages) will show you lists of mods & patches that we have available. You pick some, email me at t6001@cox.net with your list and address, and I'll d/l, burn & mail them to you.

for me the most interesting mods are those like Praetorian or LoTR (which is still being created),because all that mods that are only new campaigns or add factions which were not playable ,are too simple and even I can do such mod by simply changing few things in campaign txt file - it's no big deal.
but although Praetorian mod introduced many new units and changed the period the game is played - this mod was too easy and it had many bugs
I hope people creating new mods will take into consideration that making a new campaign is good but only for yourself - real mods should be way more complicated and new

I'm just glad that people take the time to do the mods they do make.
They don't have to be revolutionary all new Campaign maps and units for them to be good mods, I have had plenty of fun playing seemingly 'simple' mods that people have put many hours in to making and testing for other people to enjoy.

So don't make their tallent and efforts seem worthless just because you do not apreciate it. http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/angry.gif

I think many people including myself would disagree, because a mod might not change the entire look and feel of a typical MTW campaign in no way makes it simple or uninteresting. Some mods that change various aspects of gameplay but do include new units or factions can still be very challenging, take the very popular MedMod which does not give the game a new look in any way but brings the level of gameplay to new and challenging heights.
To say that a Mod lacks merit becuase to you it seems simple or you could do it yourself no big deal is an insult.
I have seen many mods being produced here of late and many of them good quality, and involve alot of work, they may not have the broad sweeping changes you prefer to but that is not what makes a Mod good. Everyone has different tastes, likes, dislikes and every Mod will not cover everything for everybody, but any Mod takes effort, thought and time, some more than others. But I respect anyone who goes through the effort to make a Mod and release it for the community to enjoy. My first Mod was simply enabling the Swiss to be a playable faction in all periods, simple yes but also a learning experience. I am currently working on a Napoleonic Mod for MTW VI which has been in the works for sometime, inolves alot of work from a team of Modders, but the scope of a Mod alone does not give it merit, so before you make comments about simple mods try them out first you might like them. I agree that not all simple mods are bad , and I know MedMod - but it really changes a couple of things,it's well designed, and I even play it now. Still I think that not every mod is good and I mean no disrespect to people who create them. It's just my opinion and that's it.
