Dismounted Nobles

I've just discovered that the VI Mounted Nobles can dismount on castle battles.

They seem to make a nasty-ass (though on the small side for normal unit size. 80 on max as I play is reasonably significant though) spear unit.

Anyone tried them?
I only discovered very late in my campaign so I only actually tried them in my last battle & they didn't have much to do.

Rarely. Good as heavy inf. against the vikings. They perform even better than mounted in my opinion.

In the unit chart they are the Early Foot Knights.

Hi,

Played a 'Quick battle' (one of the randomly generated things), and they appeared in my scottish forces against the vikings. I used them to attack uphill against viking raider cavalry - within minutes the battlefield was littered with dead vikings, and the rest were fleeing for their lives. Most excellent.

Well any spear ought to do well enough vs viking raider cav. even uphill.
