Quote[/b] ]This worm runs on and is able to propagate into Windows NT, 2000, and XP systems.
So there are benefits in still having Windows 98, hehe. http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif

Hmmm, LordUxbridge kept having problems with his computer yesterday. It kept shutting down on him, he thought he was being hacked. I will have to warn him about this
Cheers Alrowan

it amazes me that so many people got infected so fast ... Luckily , and in accordance to what Mount Suribachi said , its cool to still have win 98 http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif
The fix for this flaw was available mid July - and well, yesterday a friend suffered from the virus.
If
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Updates\Windows XP\SP2\KB823980
already exists in your Registry, you are protected.
Just search "KB823980" with regedit.exe in your Windows Directory.
You can update with your Internet Explorer, do not know the english expression, in German you must click
EXTRAS - Windows Update - and well, then search for Updates there.
Even those with pirated copies can do that - and those who are legally registered, no, your system is scanned there but at least it is said that no data is stored... http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/rolleyes.gif
It was really cool, he rebooted every minute, probably he got it while chatting with mIRC. http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/tongue.gif

This bug spreads through an open port in computers without firewalls, it scans vunerable Ips and spreads itself. It will also launch a D.O.S atack on windows update servers.
Dam little bugger, glad i've got some protection and know my way around these buggers http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif
