playing in MP

(have lost my manual and not really sure how to do this)

i remember an old post on this (before i had internet connection) but can't seem to find it now

What you can do to get started is to play custom game without any pause in normal in 1v1. Pick up 15000 fl for you and 20000 for the AI. 15000 is the standart in MP. I am not sure I would recommand the same thing for 4v4, the AI is way more dynamic than many MP players, and you can't chat with the AI. 4v4 custom games are indeed strange http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif.

Many MPers despise the AI, and well for sure sometimes it does not play well. But to get started, feel confortable with no pause game and with an ok army, it's OK. And beside the real thing, that's pretty much the only thing you can do http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif

Pick only troops with good morale. In a 15k game all of your combat troops should have morale 8 or higher. When you upgrade always upgrade valor first (this gives you a +2 morale, +1 att, +1 def increase). If you have some florins left upgrade weapons. Only exceptions are the ranged troops. Here you can upgrade armour firts regardless of morale.

i suggest picking byz in early or high and english late.
make sure ur byz inf r 3 valor or more cos if not they'll rout easy.
vangaurd r expensive but their the best shock troops there is, but byzs horse unit in high\late r crap and stand no chance vs other european knights BUT van axes will sort them out http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/joker.gif (NO VANGAURD IN LATE)

4 byz van 2 valour
3 pavs or archers
horse hmmm cant really say but lancers r good light horse unit and byz cav r brillant in early.
as for english its hard to say cos it depends on ur style of play.

I agree with Pitt, except that I feel Buz Inf must be V4 to be effective (V4 still only morale 8)
