I did a search of the Dungeon (Edit 1) forum and I found a couple posts which said that the Ruler ID Advantage doesn't work (in MTW 1.1). I'm not quite sure what the Rule ID Advantage is supposed to do but it does work in that the unit which is given the advantage is cheaper to produce and support. Maybe it's supposed to also do something else and that's what doesn't work ?

Welcome tuopaolo. http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/wave.gif
Sadly, I can't help you. But I've this feeling someone just lurks around the corner who can help you. http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/cool.gif
Im not a Mod, but i am a Modder (inside joke there http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/wink.gif ), i beleive the Ruler ID advantage refures to a feature that allows a certain faction to get bonuses in producing certain troops. Things like Less cost and lower upkeep on Chiv Knights or another Unit like them.
i hope im right, oh and btw welcome to the .Org http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/wave.gif

I did some testing and I was wrong ... well half-wrong. In MTW 1.1 the Ruler ID Advantage does work but you can't change it. Modding it using the Gnome Editor has no effect -- I guess it's hard-coded or something. Does anyone know if the modding the Ruler ID Advantage works in VI?

I was wrong again
Here's what I know:
The Ruler ID Advantage works for French bishops -- they're cheaper.
It doesn't work for English archers.
So ... maybe it only works for Strategic Agents?

Seeing we aren't getting much of a response here, I've copied your post over in the Dungeon Edit1 forum: Ruler ID Advantage (http://www.totalwar.org/cgi-bin/forum/ikonboard.cgi?act=ST;f=5;t=10339;r=1;&#top).

i think it does work for all units, in VI at least. scrolling down the list there are both types of units with ruler ID advantages. i do recall that aragon inquisitors were cheaper than spanish ones, something i didn't understand when i saw it but i don't remember if there was a diffeence between english archers and french, ansd all the other ones listed. it probably works the same was region ID advantage does - a minor change like + 1 valour. also each unit can only have 1 region and 1 ruler advantage.
Did you know that the Polish (a catholic faction) has a ruler ID advantage when building orthodox priests and orthodox bishops?
EDIT section. Oops, clicked Add Reply too fast.
When I was looking through some of the .txt files, I found some references to the polish as having been originally an orthodox faction which was later changed to catholic and they forgot about the above.

I'm really really SORRY http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif I feel like a big idiot now. The Ruler ID Advantage does work -- it makes units cheaper to build for one (and only one faction). I was looking at the support cost The support cost is the same. I goofed. Again I'm really sorry.
Thanks to everyone for the help.
One thing that does NOT work though (and I'm sure about this http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif ) in MTW 1.1 is that the region valour bonus does not work for Strategic Agents -- like the Inquisitors in Castille. I think I read that this was fixed in VI. I'd buy VI but I want to wait till the patch comes out http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif
