Can someone make a Dutch mod if it's not to hard? Meaning a little tiny faction in Friesland called Holland with generals having german name and german music, with quite a few Florins as starting in the high period?
That's all I ask, if it's not too hard. Thanks.

http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/wave.gif Hello Praetorian. Welcome to the Org. You've been rather busy. http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/pat.gif
There are lots of Dutch patrons here, so I'd imagine there'd be some interest in such a mod. If there is already a Dutch mod, I've not heard it meantioned. Have you considered trying your hand at creating a Dutch mod?

If you wanted to mate why not use the dutch names in camp map, then go on names, then pick the default hero file where the dutch first and second names are. Find the numbers next to the headings and assigned them to your faction accordingly. I have on my working mod for the Flemish.

Interesting.
Some things in this area (MTW modding - Dutch specific mod) have already been done - albeit, not in the way you may presume.
Give me a day or so and I'll write something up in respect of this, and then post it to this thread. I'll try to make it informative in terms of both MTW modding and a potential Dutch mod (and by this I mean a real Dutch mod that incorporates all the current potential that is realisable now in terms of MTW modding).
A bit more than you had in mind perhaps, but ... hey ... let's all aim high If you aim high and subsequently fall down, well, at least you'll end up higher than if you'd aimed low and was defeated at the 1st hurdle
Expect a considerable post to this thread tomorrow.

Like, even their own special unit? If so, I can think of one, they had knights with a goedendag some kind of slinging thing, the closest thing to it is a mace. You can just use any troops that carry a mace, and upgrade them. They shouldn't be outdated too quickly because they were very ahead of their time and still used in the early 17th centaury.

I like the idea of your unit, is there any chance of a bit more info on the weapon, thanks.
Maybe you should include the Fries knights, should be one hell of a unit on their big black battlehorses (largest in the world?)

The Goedendag was a uniquely Flemish invention, a deadly two-handed club with a long iron spike affixed to the end. Popular with the town militias due to its ease of use, it was employed by the citizens to deadly effect. By mixing spear and goedendag side by side, these militias managed to do what some considered impossible, defeating more numerous formations of heavy cavalry.

THe Flemish peasants used the Goedendag to defeat the French Army.
I thought goedendag was just a translation for a mace?
Funny name by the way, 'goedendag' means goodday http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/wink.gif
Dutch can be so similar too english, Halbard --------> 'Hellebaard' rougly translated Hellbeard.
