left click and hold drag across battlefield while u still holding. If u tried reading the manual or doing the tutorial u might learn something u birdbrain.

Tankdog...
the birdbrain part was not needed - although the fact that there is a tutorial and a manual should be taken by anyone with such questions as an obvious pointer on how to learn the answers....

birdbrain only applies to repeated and inexcusable stupidity-- not just abject newbiness.

Dun' worry Dimka, it's just that time of month for Tankdogg http://www.totalwar.org/ubb/rolleyes.gif

Hhhm well not doing the tutorial is kinda inexcusable, but seeing as the manual was a text file in some obscure area of the Shogun folder which takes ages to load I could kinda forgive someone for not reading that. Oh and is it just me or are the battles in the tutorial harder then those in the campaigns? :P

Actually I did notice that when I first picked up Shogun, Voltage.
The demo tutorial, particularly the last battle, is really interesting and challenging. For some reason I play that one more than the actual full version tutorial cuz I once experienced a crash and it made me sad. http://www.totalwar.org/ubb/frown.gif Plus the music rules. http://www.totalwar.org/ubb/smile.gif
Also does coffee. oops.

If you mean the one about a unit of archers fighting against YS in the rain, I have to admit that it's a really tough cookie.

V2D: What, you didn't get that nice paper thing in this box? Or did you just throw it out with all the Electronic Arts ads? http://www.totalwar.org/ubb/biggrin.gif

Thanks ya'll! Sorry couldn't reply sooner... was out having too much fun with my car. http://www.totalwar.org/ubb/smile.gif Yeah I read the manual (a while ago) and I remembered that there was a way to do it but for some odd reason I could never make it happen. http://www.totalwar.org/ubb/confused.gif

Yeah but what about that grouping deal? I could never figure that out. BTW, hangover is no fun. First it's my friends graduation party on saturday, then it's my lil brother's b-day (he's 5 now http://www.totalwar.org/ubb/smile.gif) I just wish I could have a beer right now, that would smooth the morning a bit http://www.totalwar.org/ubb/smile.gif hehe

Dimka.m,

Hold down the 'CTRL' key and select multiple units. Then press 'G' to group them. Hold down 'CRLT' and click on a unit in the group to select the whole group once you have defined them. Use 'SHFT' + 'CTRL" + 'a number key' to assign a group to a hotkey. Use 'CRTL' + 'number' to select the group.

The 'G' key is a toggle. You can dissolve the group by selecting it and pressing 'G'. You can also remove an individual unit from a group by selecting just that unit and pressing 'G'. If you have a unit rout and can't rally it, you should remove it from whatever group it may be in. It will cause problems if you try to move a group and that routed unit has not yet left the map.

I hope your not combining cars and alcohol.

WHOA! Tankdogg123,what happened? sneaking through your presants and found out you were'nt going to get what you asked for Christmas? http://www.totalwar.org/ubb/tongue.gif
Dimka.m....SMACK! thats for not reading your manual. The release date was put back on this game because of the documention problems.
Now before you might ask the next question 'How do I retrain units?' There are many threads on this, beside I've answered the question so many times, that its gotten me somewhat confused that I have forgoten to do it myself.
Anyways wellcome....Tankers just haven a bad day and he does'nt reflect the warming hospitality of the .Org http://www.totalwar.org/ubb/rolleyes.gif
