Hi all,
Since the Hellenic Total war is nearing its v.1.0 I found my self needing something different to flex a bit before I return to the my beloved HTW series.
I have found this link at BBC news (http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/science/nature/2736059.stm) that gives a new idea on the Troy map. Apparently they proved Homer was right when he said Troy was a costal city.
What I pan on doing is this.
Two armies one of the Achaeans and one of Trojans in a small map not more than 6 provinces and one sea region and finally a campaign with 10 - 20 turns.
The Achaeans will not be able to build units so what you have is what you get but they come in force.
The Trojans will be a bit spread out (they will have 5 provinces) but their troops will be lighter with better missiles.
The armies will have this composition for Achaeans (http://www.dbaol.com/armies/army_10_figure_1.htm) and for Trojans most probably this (http://www.dbaol.com/armies/army_9_figure_1.htm).
Gods and trivia ...
Need to say more ... I might have to build some units that are single man units so Aries for example but ... I think this will bring unbalance in the game.
The map will have two castles but Troy will have stone walls and some villages.
this will be a fairly fast mod so expect it to hit you by mid September.
Needed help.
Well I would need two castle battle maps and someone to deal with the names and description files.
BTW Lotar I will need your chariot unit (if you read this)
