zoom out on battle map

Occasionally I select a unit and click on follow projectiles just for a little fun but mainly on bridge battles and its spearclass against spearclass wich can take forever and its done out of boredom. The big problem that happens after this is the camera zooms down close to that unit and shows the projectiles going through the air. Well once I'm done having fun how do I get the camera to zoom out as it gives me a very restricted camera view after doing so and I looked in the game manual and could not find the answer to this

If your mouse has a scrollwheel then use it to move your view up or down (zoom out). There are also key shortcuts to do the same. I cant remember them off the top of my head though.

Ok it says here that keys 1 and 3 (NOT on the keypad) zoom in and out of a campaign map - they may serve the same function during the battle.

Yey i used the MTW manual to look something up.

Unfortunately, they won't do the same thing. Took me a while to learn that.

To zoom on the battlefiled, use / and * on the numpad, but srollwheel is much more convenient. Use - and + on the numpad to change the view angle.
