View Full Version : Trade
If i remember corectly the game manual says that you cannot trade with yourself. if thats true what happns when you capture all the coastal regions, most of my trade income allways comes from the sea. forgive me if ive made an oversight here but i only recently started playing the singleplayer campaign. i completed it once with sicilians but that was only a lesser victry so i didn have all the coastal regions under control.

then I am affraid that all of the trading with other nations ceases and you only have the internal trade. The sort of basic one province that you build the trading post in. Sorry but that's how it works.
I could be wrong but a lot of people have talked about over land trade, such as happened in the real world. Someone might have modded it. Someone other than me would have to fill you in on that though...

I think the trade is meant to simulate government import/export taxes on trade. Internal trade would be very difficult to tax and a few restricted goods would have been (hence the internal trade revenue). Governments tend to have little influence over the activities of internal merchants, but Ports & border crossings are easy places to restrict the flow of goods when a tax was not being paid.
When you own all coastal provinces, the time has come to invest in the Farmland

The problem is you mighnt have anything to invest in farmland.
Always keep some factions alive in the otherwise worthless islands - malta, cyprus, rhodes, crete for trade until you are ready for the final stomp - but I have never bothered ot get that far so dont take my word for it http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif
