Well, i think a Valour 9 Peasant looks like the following...

Carries 2 pitchforks, instead of one... Carries a hay sickle as well for the close melee encounter.

Rides on his favourite donkey to battle...

He is able to do somersaults with both pitchforks simultaneously spinning in the air...

If called upon to do the usual Peasant-like activites, he can still run faster than the average peasant because of his favourite mule...

Come on, what is the Valor 9 Peasant like?

THe uber peasant probably has had a lobotomy and so rather foolishly, does not run away when faced by a much superior enemy. I doubt they kill any better.

Uberpeasants are Hashishan desguised as peasants. They can run away faster and can hide in the open.

I would expect them to have telescope lance in their pocket. They pretend to be normal peasants but suddenly whip their lance out of their pocket, extend them and charge through anyone who is in their way.

And after battle lances are used to cook sausages at the flames of burning houses.

Surprised none of you have run into an uberpeasant unit considering the fact the comp autoresolves against other A.I. All I can say is you will run into em on occasions with about a base valour of 3 and boosted up by the generals unit and can pretty much do damage against lower class units in your army but at least they fall faster than Ghazis. What I love is when peasants are chasing routers and have a man killed for each man taken.

1 good use I found for peasants is putting them in hold formation and suckering a cavalry charge into them once the cavalry charge into them and being the poorly trained soldiers that they are. The cavalry gets stuck in the mass of peasants and are right for the pickings where normally a unit that could not take them out head on can easily pluck them off 1 by 1. It does look awfully funny seeing this as the enemy cavarly will have some that charge all the way through the unit some that get stuck in the middle and some at the front. Of course this tactic is only used in desparate situations where the territory is isolated and there is no retreat boosting up the morale for all troops.

Another thing I use peasants for is in the back of the line and putting them in hold formation and marching them through the few stray units that break my line tieng them up so they cant wreak havoc on other units

Well, theoretically, one could make up an army of uber-peasants: +4 armor, +4 weapons, all morale upgrades a province can produce. See how this army fares agains the AI armies http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/wink.gif
