I personally use a thrid party program that i used to use for taking STW Screenies called GrapScreenClipSave or something of the like... You just press Print Screen and it creates a .JPG in a folder you specify, easy.

If you press 0 on the number pad before using F2 it will remove the User Interface (Unit Icons, Radar, Command Buttons) and only take pictures of the actual background. Good for realtime battle shots.

you can click the print screen button next to f12.
And the picture is then in your clickboard, paste it in a program like paint and voila. An all out screenshot.

(you paste with ctrl+v or right click mouse > paste)

I'm afraid you can't just paste the image into your post. You have to put the image on a web site and link to the picture in your post.

I can't post my screenshots there 'cause I don't have permission to do so.Isn't any other way I can post a topic with images other than uploading the images on a site and then writing down the URL of the image to include it in the topic?
Thanks for the help.

I just need to post images of some of the amazing things I've done on the Medieval campaign map and in battles.

Alex,

I don't know what the official line is but I think until you reach 10 posts you are restricted to posting in the entrance hall. You could just post the images here, and after you have more than 10 posts, you can put them in the screenie thread.

The images must be on the net for them to be viewable in your post.

You can also send me the screenshots in:

-jpeg format
-maximum 600 pixels wide

to the following email: katsujin_ken@hotmail.com

I can put them on the net, in my webspace, and give you a link so you can post them, or I could post them on your behalf.

Cheers.

How can I turn the images from TGA format to jpeg format?

Alexander the Great

And what about the battle replays? How can I post those?

Shahed

To convert tga to jpeg, you need an image converter like PaintshopPro7 or Irfanview.

To post battle replays at the org posts, the replays must also be on the net, like the screenshots.

You could also set up a free webspace (like I have done) and upload your stuff to there. If you need me to host anything let me know. I'd like to see those screenies.

SeljukSinan I need you to host some screenshots of mine.
I trust that you don't use them yourself for your own use.
Thanks.

NP dude. I don't have any intention of taking any credit at all. Please resend them, coz my hotmail was full so I guess your attachments were filtered out.

I emptied my hotmail now, so you will be ok for up to 1.5 Megabytes. Please remeber to zip em as this will save space. Also please dont send an attachment above 1 MB as hotmail usually just blocks it. You can break it down and zip it.

I'll email you back once I have the stuff, and have uploaded it, and give you weblinks so you can post everything here yourself.

Well,it's not a bug nor did I make any mod.I was lucky. My general became famously brave, then utterly fearless and finally brave beyond belief. He also took the secret pride and then pride v/v.The other v/v is high security. All these together sum up for a valour of 19 together with the 5 stars he has. These days I even made him skilled attacker and now I've reached valour 20

What then? Where does it go?

Yep, F2 takes the screenshot. This screenshot then gets saved to a folder named 'TGA' in your medieval total war folder.

http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/wave.gif

kawligia
09-18-2003, 01:28
And then you take the new file out of tga and paste it in a paint program right?

Shahed
09-19-2003, 18:47
Negative.

You need to convert the TGA into a more common (and smaller file size) format. To do this you need a program capable of reading TGAs and converting them like PaintShopPro7 or IrfanView (available free at cnet, or download .com)

http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif

Shahed
09-19-2003, 19:13
Forgot to mention: you only need to convert it if you plan on hosting it or emailing and stuff. TGAs can be very big.

If you just want to see the screenshot a simple TGA reader is enough.
