Trojan Wars
This small mod depicts the battles fought in and around Troy. It starts when the Achaeans landed East of Troy. You have 10 years (turns) time to capture the City of Priam. If you lose the landing spot you loose if Troy is won you win. Only these two lands matter. There are some big armies in the region

There are 11 units (10 totaly new). The Installation is as simle as I can posibly make it. It is compatible witht the Hellenic Total War so they can coexist.

This was a quick (two weeks time from conseption to delivery) and a bt dirty mod. I will do the chariot units but that is a side project.

Hi Komminos,

I have problem with trojan mod; custom battles functions but units have strange names (???//.mycenians?;http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif with the mention unable to translate
For the campaign, factions have strange names and I have no background on campaigns downside. Then when I choose one It crushes.
I shall retry an install tonight, but I wanted to signal that point.
Also, I changed the two maps JPEG in TGA so...
I must add the others greeks mods function so I do not see the point...
Thanks anyhow for the mod, and Yes chariots would be great

The strange names has to do with the names.txt file ... where have you unziped the files? They should be unziped in the root MTW dir and they files will go the there respective directories. In the Loc\Eng folder your names.txt should have the new units names and the DESCRIPTIONS.TXT there descriptions.

Since you have a lot of problems with names I suspect that there was something missplaced in the istallation.

Since there are only two factions I have made two files. The Trojan War is to be used for Campaigns ONLY and the Trojan Combat for Combat only

Check that everything goes to there folders ... try unzipping it on an empty folder just to check ... I think the files are all in there some thing is defenetly problematic with the installation.

Hi Komninos,


As you may guess, I am a little bit a newbie in computer matters; anyhow I was careful and now your both mods work.
A common problem with many mods seems that warriors who can throw javelins, pilums or whatever go back with melee fight. It is curious that french grenadiers or polemist have this skirmisher comportment; but I suppose you are limited by programs routines.

Anyhow you made a very interesting mod and as a matter of fact, I do not play anymore with a retail game about that period anymore (no title...) http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/wink.gif

Yes I know the problem.
All units with missile ability are considered scirmish. you have to put them by hand at attack. This is some thing we have to look and find a remedy ...
