Since there is such a talented Mod making community out there for TW, I have a few suggestions for new mods, hell for full blown TW games at some point Here are my nominees, please post your own thoughts:

1. Alexander the Great: Factions are easy to come by, it fits the motiff of large amounts of troops in formations. Cav, Inf, balista etc.

2. Vlad Dracula's Campagins: These would be towards the end of the Medeval period, but again plenty of factions, and it falls into the swords/shields era with several minor adjustements. The Muslim/Turkish armies are much stronger and play a bigger role during this time period, so that should make that guy who had a beef with underpowered, misrepresented Muslim armies happy.

3. Later Han China (Romance of the Three Kingdoms) Characters, 20+ different Kingdoms at the turn of the 3rd century, plenty of side-stories to fill out a game that would involve massive amounts of soldiers. No gunpowder, pure sword/spear/mace action

4. American Civil War: Since the Napoleonic Mod Beta has been so impressive, the natrual evolution would be to the Civil War. Plus side, alot of interest in Civil War games of any kind. Major Downside: Only 2 forces you can play as heh.

5. Frederick the Great: Same style as the above. Minor adjustments in uniforms and division of Europe, could be interesting.

Let me know what you think

Late medieval mod
Starts around 1470 and ends somewhere late 1500's. In this period we have the Wars of the Roses in England, Maximillian raised the Landsknecht armies and we saw the rise of pike and shot. Armour has reached it's highest point of development. I think this one will be pretty interesting.

Cheers, Duke John

I really want to make a new world mod but i need a map. Has any one made an americas map for the game? If so please send it to me. I would love to see the Incas, Mayas and Aztecs trying to force back the Conquistadors. That would kick ass http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif

I would be keener on smaller campaigns more like VI.

A war of the roses campaign has been suggested and I think this would be a good idea. Similarly, English Civil War.

Or the Hundred YEars war was a small whole campaign rather than just a sequence of battles. Etc etc.

I have always wanted to do this mod, actually I was just going to post this in its own thread:

Vandalic-Gothic wars period (start of Middle Age)

This is the period immediately after the fall of Rome, when the great barbaric nations were fighting each other for the spoils of the Western Roman empire, and Byzanthium was at war with them and the Persians.

This period is not widely known, but I always found it fascinating (historically speaking that is, the wars themselves were among the worst ever in terms of casualties and sufferings). Any small change in the outcome of any of the many wars fought in that period would have resulted in a very different world history.

The factions involved were:
- Byzanthium
- Persian Empire
- Huns (in Hungary)
- Goths (in Italy)
- Franks (in Germany and France)
- Longobards (in Austria)
- Vandals (in North Africa and Sardinia)
- Visigoths (in Spain)
- Alans, Avars (in Eastern Europe)
(this is somewhat simplified, so don't flame me yet).

The canonic period is from 476 BC to 550 BC, but it could be stretched a bit back in time to include Attila (and the last ditch defense of Rome), and/or extended to Charlemagne times (about 800 AD), which would let us assist to the rise of the Arabs.

Wouldn't mind seeing the campagins of Ireland's High King Brian Boru vs the English, Danes, and other assorted Irish city-states. Maybe a REAL ancient one, with Egypt/Assyria Persia/Somer etc.

A RoTK mod would rule

Tons of famous historical figures and a rich history(Liu bei, Cao Cao&#33http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/wink.gif

That being said... it would require a ton of work. Does anyone know if the shogun unit animations can be used without changing them? They would help a bit.

Another few ideas:

Joan of Arc
Early Colonization of the Americas(Natives, Latins, Spaniards, English, French, Danish)
Egyptian mythical mod(based on the pharaohs)

How about starting in that sea of grass the steppe and sweeping across it like the mongols and attila. The size of the empire would be huge even bigger the medieval.

What about a Rennaisance Polish mod?

Guess I'm just hankering after some winged hussars.
