My pleasure Stormer even though I had to brighten them all up in photoshop. Sorry they are the size they are but trust me they do not warrant enlarging. At least you guys can get an idea on how the graphics will look but times 100% better than what I offer

Looks cool.

Questions:

-How long would it take to march from one end of the battle map to the other ?
-Can you actually walk your man through a river (like it seems in screenie) ?

Thanks again mate, thanks very much for all that effort.
Appreciate it greatly. http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/pat.gif http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif

ah ok. I must say the pics are very impressive...especially the one that shows a unit of spearmen charging...the front two ranks have their spears pointing out in front of them while the back ranks are pointing their spears at the sky.

How long does it take to walk across the map from one end to the other *for people who watched* is it HUGE ? Fog of war ?

Hard to say as we got a kinda edited highlights version. The map did seem much larger than a standard TW map and it was *gorgeous*. Much more detailed, and the terrain seemed just more realistic in general. No fog of war though - in fact I think they had the camera lock turned off because before the battle the n00b generals were able to scan up and down the Roman lines in great detail.

While RTW and Time Commanders share the same engine, there are (minor) changes needed to the TC system to make good television. As someone has already noticed, the camera lock has not been activated, otherwise we couldn't get the tracking shots needed to capture the action. And, obviously, the battlefields have been built (like any other historical battlefield) to be as accurate as possible, rather than being generated from the campaign system.

Otherwise what you see is pretty much what you get when you play RTW at the moment The AI is still under development, but still manages to run rings round me before I've had the first coffee of the day.

Still, this sort of stuff is just one good reason why it's worth getting up and coming into work at CA every morning http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif

Well Captain Fishpants to have job satisfaction is something to be envious of. No only do you get paid but you enjoy what you do. I have the same being a graphic designer. I'm left to my own devices hence the opportunity to stick all these pics on the net. Keep up the good work

Im lucky enough to have been a games tester all summer, and its the only job ive ever enjoyed doing. Nothing better than playing games and getting payed for it. Shame Codemasters didnt develop the Total War series though http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/wink.gif

Those wide/tracking shots look great Any chance these camera tweaks will be available for the single player game in RTW?

I assume these custom made battlefields for TC will be available as historical battles in the retail release of RTW?

Now THAT is music to my ears A much improved AI opponent is number one on my wish list for RTW. Could you give us a rough estimate as to how much better the AI is in RTW when compared to MTW:VI?
