No Game server.....

firstly "is the stw server up"..i cant connect ever..i have tryed lots of times without any luck..??

I got your fake server programe Tosa..but i cant connect to myself ...hehe what am i doing wrong,
Or do i have to host in the LAN section of the game...doh?
I changed the inter.cfg file to this...

I got a spare p.c lying about somewhere in this room,i just have to slap it toegether & we can get this sorted...
I can always run this, my faster p.c in passive mode on a network..as its always on ,unless the power goes down...

Konnichiwa Todaswarrior san,

RSW san made the Fakeserver.

You run the Fakeserver.exe on one computer, use the IP details from that computer to modify the internet.cfg. Also check which port is used by Fakeserver, and update either the cfg or the Fakeserver.

Replace the internet.cfg in the STW directory with the modified one. You'll then join FakeServer when you log in like normal.

I'm not sure why you can't join your own server. I run the FakeServer on the same computer as I use to play on. In case a second computer is used. Are you using a switch/router/2nd networkcard?

I think i may have 2 reinstall the game.....
I can get the server to work ok...& i can see my ip in the client box in the clinet server window if i alt/tab the game window,but hehehehe the game hangs at loggin...so i think its the game thats gone mad... or could there be another reason y the game dont flick to the logged in screen..??

ok i done just about everthing...if i run the server...it works fine...(if i loggin from the game & If I alt /tab the window
I can see my ip in the client list)..no worries..
But i dont see a name ..does this matter that theres no name..."the game hangs at logging in page"...it tryed the hit enter key really fast ..this idea came from aggony forum but still no go..

You should see a name in the serverlist. Here's an idea? Try to run the fakeserver on the same machine as the game first.

Hello all,partially on topic,but thought this worth mentioning here...
When logging on to the MI server and all you get is 'logging on' and no further than that heres what to do
Initially click on multiplayer and where it says use existing connection,leave it blank.Now,click continue and you get the 'logging' on screen,click the 'back' tab-the page corner and tick the use existing connection box,click coninue to the logging on screen and hopefully it will go on to the logged on process-most of the time this works for me.After you have tried once and if without success try this,as you click the continue icon press the return key on your keyboard,this will allow you to log on.
I know it sounds mad but it really does workI too run XP and have had to use this remedy each time,but I never have a problem now,although sometimes I do have to go through the second phase of the remedy-the return key part.

While I am here heres another remedy worthy of mention
Sometimes when entering the game foyer from the log in,you see an empty room,not even your own name in the foyer list.
Others in the room see you and you must host a game,type something like...I see empty room please join my game(you wont see your typed text btw).After someone joins the game,set up just one unit and start,rout straight away to end the game.When you return back to the foyer screen,all will be as it should be.
Works every time

Hope these tips will help someone,its very frustrating seeing someone log in and out,unable to see anyone,and being unable to assist them in any way
