I've just started modding and I couldn't find the answer to this in the Dungeon. I think that people may have approached it before, but only in parts. I would appreciate being pointed to the right resources for making the mod possible.

Is it possible to put the viking era into the MTW, start out with the VI tech tree, on the MTW map, just restrict the units available to non-VI factions, and let the game progress from the Dark Ages forward?

-How do you bridge the gap between the VI tech tree and the MTW tech tree.
-Also, is it possible to set triggers i.e. After 1066 if you control Normandy and Wessex you get 10000 Florins and x number of units

My goal is to create a mod of dark ages Europe where can play as England, France, or the Danes in a short period of time you can build these factions from the Dark Ages to the Middle Ages on through the conclusion of the game. Basically, make a short Chapter 1, that you play to get the game to where it begins in MTW.

The problem, it seems would be tacking the tech trees together.
