Well I really like WWI and I was wondering if any agrees with me, I find it very intersting. I think lynn macdonalds books on the subject are the best.

I can't say I "like" it, because it was a war. But, there are some parts that a very interesting.

In particular, I have studied the air war. The planes were almost too elegant and colorful to be war machines. They were still pretty experimental then, so a lot of interesting ideas were tried.

The rotary engines spun with the propellers and threw oil all over the place, including the pilots. There was no accelerator; you governed the speed of the engine by turning it on and off.

Some of the stories make good reading, like Willy Coppens accidentally landing on an observation balloon, and a Russian airman who downed an enemy plane by hitting it with a grappling hook on a rope.
