Hi:

I have made a battlefield map with a huge castle in the north of the map.

My problem is that, if I want to play a custom battle, my and the enemys army starts at the wrong places:

I as defender of the castle in the south and my enemy near the castle.
So my enemy gets hit of the arrowtowers, while I am far away of the castle (as the castles defender).

My questions: Is it possible to set startpoints so that I start as the defender near of my castle?
Or is this hardcoded?

Is it possible to define where I´m starting as defender and where as attacker?

If not its very very painful to build a working map.

And how can I define a map as a castle map?

How can I make it in the map editor, that my army starts at north when I am the defender?
Why is the defending army not always near the castle?

I would post a pic but I really don´t know how to build a website.

To the moderators or administrator: Why don´t you add a function to public an image without a webside,
so that you could upload it to this forum directly?
This would make the forum more attractive.
You could limitate the size of the file with 50 kb.
This would be great.

This is a difficult one.

You can't via the MTW Map Editor. You can by changing the hex values in a .JJM map file. Such files contaion a "army deployment areas" block that relates to 8 deployment zones. Whilst you can change this it is rather complicated and you'd require a hex editor and a bit of investigation to do it.

Check the stickied thread "And now for something completely different" in the Dungeon/Edit1 as this issue was recently discussed.

Thank you for the answer http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/wave.gif

Sounds very complicate for me http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/frown.gif .

I expirienced that the map editor has some bugs:

The gates doesn´t work. They can´t opening.

If something is a mountain for one time its always for the map editor.

Sometimes models are not at the place were you put them (a bit away) in the editor.

Quite anoing http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/mecry.gif

Does anyone knows how to get the gates to work?
