Christmass shopping... You all know it. After buying my last presents, my gaze was drawn to MI. I had seen it before, but never intented to buy it. Having money left (despite what everyone tells you, december is not an expensive month, at least not to me) I succumbed and bought it. Always had a weak spot for. *hint hint* Yup, i tried to field lots of cavalry in STW, but unlike some certain person(s) i cannot say i was very succesfull with it.

Anyway I noticed I started to long back to STW/MI, and i would have been back if I could make a new account, since i lost me old one (yes, yes i know why i can't)

Oh, i know very few (if any at all) remember/knew me... I just registered here, and i found i had to use my account and make a little post... I have to do something besides cursing at the log-in site all day. And I might learn something.

Hmmmm funny, you start with lots of things you want to say in your head, but as you type more and more, your mind empties herself at an even faster rate...

Oh well, cant say merry christmass anymore... have to wait a year for it (minus a few days of course) so... best wishes for next year and I hope seeing you on the fields.

Oh, i should ask something on topic. Hmmmmm...... Already know why i cant get a new account, and enough bout patches... and no problems with them (the applying part that is ofcourse) Hmmmmm, not handy for my ego to ask wether you missed me so I wont ask that...

So.... Hmmmmm hows MI online compared to STW online roughly, is it worth it. You still play STW online? And (main question), how is unit selection go online in reference to Japanese/Korean/Mongol troops?

Oh well, i dont want to continue this monologue...

Catch you soon (i hope)

Loves

~Nathalie

Medeia,

Welcome back. The registration page being down has come at a bad time since it appears that quite a few people have recently acquired WE/MI, and would like to get online. Even if you had your old account, WE/MI requires a new registration for online play.

Larger maps and many fine new maps created by players with the editor is a nice feature of the expansion. Gameplay with the v1.02 patch is basically the same as STW, but there are many new units available and cav is more useful. Some of the new game types are apparently flawed, and the standard 'last man standing' game gets played the most. Lag and drops is still a problem in the larger battles.

You can play the standard Sengoku game with 3 new units: naginata cav, battlefield ninja and kensai. The online Mongol game is playable as Mongol vs Japanese, Mongol vs Mongol or Japanese vs Japanese. There are no guns, monks or yari ashiguru in this period.

There is considerable modding capability in WE/MI and unit mods will work online in friendly games, but there is no documentation to guide these efforts. Even so, some good mods have been produced with more down the road I'm sure.

Medeia,

No difference. The MI update to STW gives you the same thing you get in the WE which is a standalone product. There are still people playing STW online, but not very many.

Well knowing how long it took solving the loading-too-many-clans error last time I tried to make an account... I'm afraid its going to take a while.

Cheers

Medeia,

Believe it or not, I do remember the name, although I can't say that I remember the personality at all. Regardless, anyone who can remember the "loading too many clans" error when registering online deserves a warm welcome back and you qualify as an old-timer! There are still a few STW v1.0 fogeys still around although many have new names now.

Never argue with an idiot. They drag you down to their level, then beat you with experience.

Why thank you Obake. (yes your name sounds familiar) I'm not surprised you dont know me since i was a weekendwarrior and thus not that often around, and when i did, i played mostly in open (non-tournement) games. Heh funny, that makes me an old-timer with newbie skills basically http://www.totalwar.org/ubb/tongue.gif And im rusty as well, but I'm doing some workouts http://www.totalwar.org/ubb/wink.gif

Really looking forward to play again... *glances with envy at rest* bah...
