I fall in the 8 to 12 crowd, but that's only because i'm unusually busy this time of year.

I would say I'm a 4 to 8 hours a week man. Work and Wife tend to get in the way of MTW http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif

I think overall "Too much" would be the answer i was looking for http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/wink.gif When i first had M:TW for the first few months i was playing non stop falling in the 28+ a week, but as im stillll waiting for the VI patch to come out im down to around 4-12 hours a week.

When I first got this game, I was the illegitmate offspring of Charlemagne and Frederick Barbarosa.

Well, I'm more of a casual player. 4-8 hours a week, sometimes more. Usually I play for 2-3 hours at a time when I fire up the game, and focus on it.

If you combine the totals of both Shogun and medieval I spend a grand total of :drum roll: 1 - 4 hours a week playing

:The crowd gasps in shock and a few people faint:

And that's the generous total as I haven't actually played MTW for fun (the time I have put in has been research for my guides) in nearly a month; Shogun has been filling most of those hours. Compare that to how long I spend writing my assorted guides for TW :drum roll: 8 - 12 hours per week

:Once again the crowd gasps. Someone is heard to mutter lunatic:

So why am I still here? Um, well some crazy people nominated me for the Mead Hall's moderator, I have a guide to finish and another one in progress, I have a secret project that is nearly finished, and finally I actually like this place. http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif Just because I am tired of playing TW (except Shogun, which I am playing through slowly) doesn't mean that I am tired of discussing TW. This old frog has some wisdom to pass on to the young hopefuls who are taking the first steps on their epic journey. One day I shall take up my sword again and unleash terror upon my enemies but for now this little froggy is a retired veteran.

Sometimes it seems that I spend more time browsing through our magnificent forums than playing the game http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/wink.gif But the wealth of information within the vaults of Totalwar.org is alluring and irresistible.

I play about 12 hours or so. Havent really timed myself, do you think I should? http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif

What if you play more than 40 hours a week? http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif

I don't play "weekly" so I find it difficult to answer. I play in batches, as time allows. Sometimes, I'll play all weekend long going to bed only when my head bounces off the monitor screen as I nod off. http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/joker.gif

Then I might not play for 2 or 3 weeks (or more); or I might continue for another week, 2 or 4 hours a day; and then a few weeks of nada.

I've got a fairly powerful PC, so I can play a few turns, alt-tab, do some work, take a break, alt-tab back to the game, do a few turns, alt-tab....

I try NOT to play unless I can give at least 2 hours, but find this notion to be ridiculously optimistic. So now, I look for 4 hours at a time and pretty much keep it to the weekends.

It all just depends.....

a bit more at the moment as i`m on holiday (didn`t go anywhere as it`s less stressful).

do i have a life?

probably not http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/wacko.gif http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/wink.gif http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/joker.gif

Intersting... so Vanya sees that froggy is a woman Vanya must now go into a momentary ogling trance.

Vanya still not see anything. Perhaps that is because Vanya has no head, and therefore no eyes? Maybe Vanya should do as Stevie Wonder, and go about groping the frog so as to "see it with His hands". http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/tongue.gif Surely the frog would not mind if Vanya "looked" into her eyes...

As Vanya approaches the sleepy frog under the tree, Vanya ponders... If Vanya were to "kiss" the frog, would it magically turn into a princess? And, would the princess stare into the drawn-in ink eyes on the grapefruit serving as Vanya's surrogate head and lose herself... and fall madly and hopelessly in love? Would she caress the grapefruit and try to peel it and try to drain it of its citrusy richness? http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/pat.gif

Vanya once again summons His ogling trance. He calls on the birds in the firmament and the bees in the trees to come forth and lend Him their sight. Vanya pierces the darkness with a thousand insect eyes.

GAH Vanya realizes He was staring at a dusty marble frog sculpture in a 99 cent store Double-GAH

Vanya must settle for beheading the store owner...

When I first recived MTW as a christmas gift last year I would play all the time, then I got into modding, which is what I do most of the time, so my actual playing has diminshed to some play testing now and again but I love this game it is addictive LOS

there's nothing like the feeling of sitting down in your ol' leather chair, turning on medieval and sipping your favorite brew...while knowing that you "...ain't go sh*t to do." unfortunately, this scenario presents itself to me less and less.

Just coming out of my winter hibernation so will play less than current 4-8 hours a week but i seem to play more often when I have uni assignments due & tests coming up - not that i'm avoiding anything at all http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif

When it first came out i use to come home from a night out about 2 or 3 am and put in a couple of hours of MTW after that. Try playing TW fatigued and drunk - how's that for a real life V&V? Talk about losing a couple of command stars Then I was playing 30+ hours week but have toned that down as wrist was about to drop off RTWS (Repetive Total War Syndrome)

I stopped playing when one night I won my ever famous battle against Byzantians. I realized that being a 10 star Turkish general wont get me food in 21st century http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/joker.gif http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/joker.gif http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/joker.gif http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/joker.gif So I decided to uninstall MTW to do some more paying off things.

I played all night and all day when I first got the game, but I stopped for a while. Recently started up again, and now instead of cramming as much as I can down my greedy throat, I savor the sweet pleasure that is Total War. http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/joker.gif

I don't get the chance to play nearly as much as I'd like. But I've just come off a 3 day bender that included lots of different campaigns.

I'd only played as the English and Byzantine before, but this time... whooooooo.
Italy, Spain, Poland, and my faves, the Russians.

Damn, the game is good.

Lately I've been in the 28+ hours a week bracket - I was made redundant, so I suddenly had a lot of free time - which was mostly spent plugged into VI http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif

I start my new job tomorrow though - so I have to return to the real world - for a while at least http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif
