If you break an alliance will that affect your reputation with the whole world or just make that person hate yuo forever or neither?

Also when you send in spies and assassins or maybe inquisitors, will that make them more likely to got to war with you? If so is the effect forever or just so many turns?

I am pretty sure it does not effect anything at all. Maybe they will be hostile towards you for a little while but I don't think it is anything long-term.

maybe until the king dies? http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif . i don't think senting spies or assains or inquisitors will make them more likly to invade you. i have seen my allies senting assians to kill my top generals

Good questions - I would be interested to know the answers.

I would guess that breaking an alliance is ok if you are forced to choose who to back in a war. Breaking an alliance to stab someone in the back would probably make other factions like you less. I am pretty sure this was true of Shogun, the predecessor of MTW.

Given that you are sometimes told which faction killed your agents, I would guess that the AI might sometimes get similar information and then get annoyed with you. I would not kill a faction's agents unless I was trying to annoy them or they were seriously annoying me (inquisitors&#33http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/wink.gif. I realise that the AI does not seem to play by these rules, but who said life was fair?

I would guess that these effects last as long as your king (and maybe their king, like excommunication).

All these things are guesses, but in the absence of insider information, it is probably best to work on the assumption they are true. Even if untrue, it will make for a better game, as it will feel as if the AI is playing as a human would.
