Someone please reply to this. I need someone to tell me how to reverse the order of the original Battle of Hastings so I can play as the English. Silver Knight, i know i've seen a mod which enabled you to play as Harold at Hastings. I'm pretty sure its in the downloads section.

Are you talking about the Norman Invasion Mod by GreasePaintMonkeyBrains? I have that one. I don't think there's any mod in the downloads that lets you play the Historical Battle of Hastings as the English. http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/frown.gif

this is a very very rough explanation,

you need to change the local and artificial setting in the bdf file,
also the triggers will need some tweaking,

if you download the stirling historical battle by me,
and the bannockburn battle by Tosa,
then compare the BDF files to the originals in mtw/battles/batinit/historical battles folder
you will see what we swapped,

now both of those may have one trigger which gives the wrong result, (no time to go check them at the moment)
BUT
from those you will be able to see a pattern,

ALSO the files still follow the demo format, and a lot of historical battles were made for the demo,
not all will work with mtw, but many should fit in easily.

IF you remake hasting, including getting the triggers to work, please upload the battle to the org,
and we will list your historical battle mod as a download

ALSO, if you are so inclined, you could embark on a conversion crusade, and remake all the demo mod battles in mtw/vi format,
and naturally gain credit as author for those conversions as well

Silver Knight, no i'm not talking of the Norman mod. There is a mod i've seen which ables you to play as the Saxons at Hastings. Have you checked the downloads?

i too was sure i'd seen it,
but it's not there,
maybe it was for the demo?

all the demo battles could be remodelled for use with mtw/vi,
any takers?
