Allot of people a couple of years back used to put loads of armour and honour upgrades on their Ashigaru. They exploited the fact that Ashigaru are very cheap to upgrade. So in effect they became the same as a Yari samurai at honour 6, and this just shouldn’t be because A. They are peasants and B. They are lethal killing machines
So ever since then people have always said: 'no ashi' or something like that. It's a like a haunting ghost. The same goes with Muskies, they are also lethal killing machines and so they are usually maxed out at 4 units in games.

Plus - even further back in time - players would choose 16 of one unit and simply charge at the start of the battle (usually 16 Warrior Monks, a 'Monk Rush'http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/wink.gif

If you've ever gone up against a 7 gun army you'd know the reason for the 4 max rule...

Yes very nice SeljukSinan, brings back fond memories of routing the AI's Yari sam with my cav, one of the most enjoyable things in the game. Doesn't work so well in 1.02 with the everpresent Hon6 ys though http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/frown.gif but it's possible in 1.03 http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif
