pope keeps on donating the florins!

I am playing a modded version of MTW 1.1 starting in Late and as the Spanish and the Pope donates 1000 florins to me practically every year (I'd say about every 1.5 years) ... I've probably gotten about 7000 florins from him by now. I've never had this happen to me before. I mean I've had the pope donate florins, but not that often. I can think of a few possible reasons for what I experienced:

1. The Pope likes the Spanish.
2. I built a lot of bishops/cardinals
3. I built a couple inquisitors.
4. I build a couple Crusade markers.
5. In my modded game Rome and the Papal States are wealthier so maybe the Pope has more money to spare.

It is almost always defined by number 1

then it is what you do in the year eg build loads of churches.

He really ikes the Spanish and I think he favours the French aswell (though he likes the Castilians more)
