Right, well, kind of copy-pasting of my post in the totalwar.com forum, could you guys help me out with:

French/German, early, glorious achievements.
I have sent 3-6 crusades, to each target province 1 or 2, in the following manner:
- over sea, province & castle taken, taking 1 or 2 years
- over land, province & caste taken, taking 8 years or more

After taking province & castle, I have, after various years:
- lost all and/or some of my troops to invading egyptians
- defended all invasions until 1210
- retreated to the castle when they invaded, after which I: kicked them out again or let them siege me out.
- moved the entire army out of the province, sometimes selling the buildings
- moved part of the army out of the pronvice.

And in none of these ways could I guarantee the points you should get for Crusades. The game just seems to give me points when it feels like it.

It's 1212 now and I've got 2 out of 4 crusades somehow awarded. (played as the French)

I have version 1.1 which made the Glory Goals more transparent (so you can see better that the game is actually screwing you).

My question is when is a crusade glory goal Exactly achieved: In which year are points awarded? Or, after how many years are points awarded.
Or what do you need to do to or with those Egyptians to get the points?

Argh, I believe nobody knows the answer (asking in two forums). But surprise me. :-)

Thanks in advance,

Greetings sunsmountain welcome to the org http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/wave.gif

Afraid I'm a bit rusty on the GA's you are talking about. Hopefully someone will be able to help you http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif

The points are awarded at 1204 when you switch form early to high...(or is it 1205? im pretty sure its 1204)

According to the GA ingame screen, it tells you what year(s) points are awarded. Pull up the GA screen and then click (left) on each GA listed on the rightside parchment. The leftside parchment describes the GA and also tells when the points are awarded. For things like Homeland, it lists specific years. For crusades (Italians used as an example), it lists a range of years: 1095-1204 or something like that. However, GA points distribution is broken according to many, but I don't recall specific GAs that were broken.

suns, did you assign a governor to the conquered crusade objective? I don't know if that matters, but it might. I suppose this isn't the information you are looking for though.

Well, i'll be surprised as it is quite sensitive: There is a lot that can go wrong before you get your points for crusades. Once you have conquered the province, the Crusade army does indeed change to normal armies.

You are not awarded points at this time.

Retreating or moving away just like that won't work, because the rebel/revolt/previous master message will interfere with the possibility of an invasion.

Leave enough troops for 100% loyalty (transport peasants by boat), province leadership or province buildings do NOT matter (can sell everything except castle-building, even port, though I leave it if it's there).
Tested by saving & reloading

Get your ass kicked, lose influence, but GUARANTEE the points. It's funny but works this way.

Does not always work with forts, wait for Keeps, in Palestine and Tripoli, mainly (Edessa & Antioch are Keeps pretty soon). If you attack a fort, chanced are too high that it will be destroyed, including your chance at glory points.

Does not work if you make peace at any time with the Egyptians/Turkish (invading force).

Does not work at any time if barbarians or rebels have a say in the matter.

Does not work if any of your crusade forces remain, marker has to be placed in starting province, after you get your points by the invasion of Turks/Egyptians, by elimination.

Does not work if you send more than one Crusade, interfering with one another (sometimes possible, if 4000 former crusade men are f***ing around when the next army arrives, this guarantees nothing).

This my research until so far.

Guess it'll do for me, but i'll get to the bottom of this (100% crusade score).

Thanks,
