View Full Version : Increasing your Kings Piety
Is there any way to increase a kings piety ? I have a 1 piety King and fear Inquistions greatly http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/eek.gif
i`m just guessing, but maybe you could build some churches and launch a few crusades, other than that i don`t know. http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/wave.gif

each successful crusade adds one to piety and influence, AFAIK.

Try him a couple of times with a low ranking inquisitor, he'll pick up loads of piety pretty quickly and never be in any danger.

Simply avoid Grand Inquisitors (assassinate them) and keep your king in a low zeal province and it shouldn't be a problem. http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/wink.gif
Crusades (or Jihads) and inquisitors is the only way to increase pity that I know of.
Notice that trials on your king reduces dread.

The King and his Princes are actually very difficult targets even for experienced inquisitors. You can try that with your own inquisitors and you'll see how slim are the chances to see him burn, at least if he doesn't have any vices that reduce his piety.
Anyway, the easiest way to protect him is to place him in a province with a bishop or a cardinal of yours. The effectiveness of the inquisitors will be higly reduced.
If he is not a faithfull man he should at least have friends to pray for him http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/wink.gif http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/wave.gif
I thought building Monasteries increased Piety too? Or reliquaries?

I had a four star Grand Inquistor and on faction leaders (even if they have low piety) every time i had no (0%) chance of 'killing' them. Also i tried the pope http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif
Sorry Pope if you are browsing the forums http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/wave.gif
The message said something about even god's favored person being influenced by the devil and on every pope i tried i got 0%.
So i wouldn't worry about inquistors. Its when you have 8 command low piety generals that you start to scream for help
But if you are worried about Inquistors... stay away from the French, they seem to build loads.

Zeal is the main source of success for an inquisitor. For 100% you get a max 25% chance of burning the faction leader. The stars seems mostly to compensate for piety. I've had a 6 star grand inquisitor that couldn't burn a 0 star general with no piety because the zeal was 0. http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/eek.gif
But when the zeal had gotten to 100% the chances were much greater http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif
Only grand inquisitors can burn heirs and faction leaders.
A tip on raising zeal.
It seems that if put a general on trial and succeeds, no inquisition occurs even if you got 10 grand inquisitors in that province, but if you fail than an inquisition starts. Atleast in 1.1
I haven't investigated if monasteries and simular buildings increase piety but I've never noticed it. And if thats the case you need to build alot of them considering that you almost never get 9 piety kings. http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/wink.gif
LOL thnx guys with varying sucess I have finally ot a KIng who adheres to the will of LAWD GOD ALMIGHT
