Dave, is there any chance that you might like to do the ultimate and die for your country? GOD BLESS AMERICA (etc etc etc).
I'm sure you meant this as a joke, and maybe a little slam, but I understand why you said it rather intentionally or not. I apologize for anything that I may have said or done to ruffle your feathers, so lets call a truce and be friends. After all, that is what the ORG is for, friendship, debate, and a great game.
I do actually have a chance to die for my country, although unlikely since I'm in the Air Force and am not a flier but a DBA, I could very easily be deployed to Iraq.
I'm sure you didn't mean how it sounded so lets get past earlier ugliness and move on to better conversations like.... How in the world did such a great guy like me become so great? http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/joker.gif

Nice response dave. Like you, I think rory meant his comment as a joke. However, as I said in the closing notice, with tensions being what they are recently, it is easy to take such humour the wrong way. The topic seemed to be edging towards thin ice, so I decided to end it before someone said something they'd come to regret. I hope you and the others at least understand my reasoning behind closing the topic.

I fully understand. The only reason I started this thread was to clear the air and offer an olive branch. I'm trying to be more civil, and I had baited rory in an earlier post so I'm sure he was frustrated with me. Feel free to close this thread once he replies. Thanks...
I would have responded sonner if I didn't have flood control activated, but I do understand the reasoning...

You are sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo
oooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo lucky I have cards on my account http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/joker.gif
But with the theme of a cold day in hell, here's a little jingle for your pleasure...
Well i'll tell you what..
Maybe we should have ourselves
a little christmas, right here..
C'mon everybody, gather 'round
String up the lights and light up the trees
We're gonna make some revelry..
Spirits are high, so I can tell
It's Christmas time in hell
Demons are nicer as you pass them by
There's lots of demon toys to buy
The snow is falling, and all is well
It's Christmas time in hell
There goes Jeffrey Dahmer
With a festive Christmas ham..
After he has sex with it
He'll eat up all he can..
And there goes John F Kennedy
Carolling with his son..
Reunited for the holidays
God bless us, everyone
Everybody has a happy glow
Let's dance in blood, and pretend it's snow..
Even Mao Tse Tung is under the spell
It's Christmas time in hell
Satan: Adolf, here's a present for you
Adolf: Oh? Ein Tannenbaum
Satan: Yes, Ein Tannenbaum
God cast me down from heaven's door
To rule in hell forever-more
But now i'm kinda glad that I fell
'Cos it's Christmas time in hell
Here's a rack to hang the stockings on
We still have to shop for Genghis Khan
Michael Landon's hair looks swell
It's Christmas time in hell
There's Princess Diana
holding burning mistletoe
Over Poor Gene Siskel's head
Just watch his weenie grow
For one day we all stop burning
and the flames are not so thck
All the screaming and the torture stops
As we wait for old St Nick
So, String up the lights and light up the trees
We're damned for all eternity..
But for just one day, all is well
It's Christmas time in hell
Get a toast together and make it quick
We've gotta make room for Andy Dick..
Wake his mother and ring the bell..
It's Christmas time.. [christmas time x3]
Christmas time.. [christmas time x3]
It's Christmas time in hell
..Merry Christmas, Movie house

Dave, that's an exceptionally kind gesture of you http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/pat.gif I did indeed mean it as a joke (I know you've got a bit of a reputation as a scrapper and as such I knew you could take it on the chin http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif).
If this reply is a bit tardy, I apologise, as I've been busy wasting my life in the Tavern (sadly Redleg has not been in there recently).
I agree that this forum is here for a bit of a lighthearted jape, and everything should be taken with a bit of a pinch of salt.
Here's to many more ruffled feathers - make those moderators work for their (non existent) pay http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/joker.gif

Sometimes it takes a pillar of salt my friend Redleg is one of the best debators in the Org. His politics and beliefs I usually share. The difference is, he articulates them in a manor more civilized than I often do. http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif
But I'm working on that. Now get back in there, and tell the bar keep to give you a pint and charge it to my tab. http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/pat.gif

Stop whining Dave. It happens to the best of us.
And before you feel that one or two minutes flood-control is inconvenient, then consider that my flood-controls were initially 2 hours.
After complaining with every two hours post I could make, I achieved another warning after which my flood controls became a 4 hour stint. My final protest resulted in an 8-10 hour flood-control. Effectively, ensuring I could post only once per day.
I left the Org for two-three months after this - as many of you will know.
Although I was assured by three Org moderators at the time, via E-Mails, that it was a big mistake because the Orgs flood control software had been coded incorrectly, and was never tested - thus ensuring that anyone who was so penalised would find a five minute flood-control equated to five hours or more - it still ensured that the Org's powers penalised someone far too harshly.
I was informed at the time, by 2 of the moderators, that an apology would be forthcoming and Tosa would post such an explanation pertaining to why things got so out of hand, and explaining that it was indeed the Orgs fault for bad software coding. I was assured such an explanation would be stickied.
Never was. No explanation was ever forthcoming. Hence, I left theOrg for 2/3 months.
For anyone who doubts this I still have the E-mails from the moderators who contacted me at the time.
Now, who gives a shit after 6 months? Not many, although I'm still peeved that certain people at the Org did'nt hold their hands up and say Sorry Welly, we really screwed things up and it wasn't your fault.
So davbe. Before you continue whining about a few minutes flood-control, if you had an 8/10-hour flood control then you would something to complain about.
Until you have been burdoned with a similar Org incompetence - then please shut up http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/wink.gif

My flood control is actually longer than a few minutes, but no biggie, I'm lucky I'm not completely banned. I find it hard to believe you have ever been in trouble, you seem like a harmless nice fella.

Konnichiwa Wellington san,
I'm very sorry, I have explained and apologized, in public, the very same moment I realized what was wrong. All the chips you collected were waived immediately.
The statement that it was never tested is incorrect. Not enough that is true, the error slipped in after a 'minor' tweak of the code :-(

Hi Tosa,
Ok, fair do's. Your quite correct in that the problem was eventually isolated and rectified.
Unfortunately, due to the nature of the problem, I was unable to post and therefore contribute my understanding of what the problem appeared to be - which is precisely why lots of E-mails flew around at that time.
Ok, it's water under the bridge now ...
... albeit, still rather a sore point.
As for you dave,
Well, we never had much sparring in the Tavern as I always considered most of your posts to be unworthy of reply http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/wink.gif
Still, sort yourself out, quit your whining (and I specifically object to whining individuals within the Org - as I consider such behaviour to be my own sole personal domain within these forums http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/rolleyes.gif ), cut down onthe drinking, be a bit more friendly with the Entrance Hall people, stop responding to idiots from the Tavern who seek you out as a 'none-desirable', kiss and make up with your wife, cuddle your baby, suck up to your boss ...
... and get yourself back in the Orgs good books ASAP.
It takes all sorts, and you are certanly such. http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/wave.gif
However, as for you seem like a harmless nice fella, well .. er ...
... are you really trying to piss me off http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/mad.gif
