Thanks in advance
Depends, you can get it pretty cheaply on Ebay, but sometimes you are getting a foreign version, the manual won't be in English.

thanks but i don't realy like using e-bay as you can not be sure what you are realy geting. is about £28 for medieval total war and viking invasion a good deal? or whould it be beter to just get medieval total war for £15
What's 28 pounds about 55$ US, that sounds like a good deal for both MTW and VI. When I lived in the UK I bought some games there and they seemed like they were a few dollars more, once you worked the rate, then they would have been in the US.
VI adds a lot to the game and gives you a whole new map so that alone makes it worth it.

£28 is about $45 so you are recemending buying both? It's just that i am on quite a small budjet being only 14 i justwonderd if it was worth it.

I bought it when it just came out (sept 2002) for € 55. I see it is a lot cheaper now.

does any one know some were you can get it cheaper from the uk
£28 quid for both is a good price and well worth it. I'd go for it. On the other hand, Total War Shogun just came out on budget for £4.99 in the U.K. if you'd like to try that first. It also includes the Mogol Invasion expansion pack, it's a fantastic deal.
If you want Medieval for a better price, you might have to wait until it comes out on a budget label.
Any price is a good price. It's one of the best computer games ever made. You could spend double the list and still get more than your money's worth.
Here in the States, I think you can get it for as low as $29.95.
I would buy both, MTW and VI, just because it is such a huge great game that you will not be playing or buying anything else for ages. Thus saving you money http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif
Come to think of it, you will most likely not go out, eat less, even the extra electricity, with your PC being on so long can be compensated by not having the TV on.
Wow buying one game could make you rich http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif

Quite a few people seem to get it for free, you know
bad internet...
It is
Well it is actually 2 games in one, if you are a strategy type then you can concentrate on that, if you are a tatical fighting person you can concentrate on that side.
But the most fun is to plan your strategy, implement it, then crush the opposition on the battlefield.
Loads of options to help the new player as well, like automatic systems to take away some of the burden. However you will soon find your own style and turn them off.
It takes a little time to get really into but provides fun out of the box.
I really like games like this, where you keep finding out new things each time you play it. Also games that give you instant satisfaction but also depth of game play, encouraging you to dig deeper and play more.
Must keep taking the pills, sound like a marketing person ahhhhh

Shono, welcome to the Org. Nice sales pitch indeed.
andy, if you indeed on a tight budget, just go for MTW. Then by the time you tire of MTW (which takes quite a while for most), perhaps VI will have dropped in price. Besides, VI would make a great b-day, Christmas, Valentine's Day, etc. gift. http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/wink.gif
Thanks Gregoshi,
Looks like a well run forum, too many forums these days just end up with bitching matches.

Come on those of you in the UK. Help your fellow citizen andy here is dyin' He's got VI in his hands, but MTW was out of stock...so that VI box is sitting there mocking him every minute that goes by.
Any of you know where andy might find MTW?
Andy have you tried the UK Amazon.com cite, I believe that it is Amazon UK ?
Actually I just went to the site and it takes 1 to 2 weeks, faster than waiting for a shop to get it in stock, but not the usual ships immediately. Seems like the Brits have a MTW shortage, maybe Time Commanders has made the game wildly popular. Amazon is usually faster, at least in the US, even when stuff is back ordered and you get something in the mail, which is always fun. http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif
It's also 5 pounds cheaper on Amazon, order something else, or talk your parents into ordering a book that they've been meaning to get at the same time and you get free shipping.

Even though you dislike Ebay, I'd recommend this one:

It isn't in stock at any walk up retail outlets in the UK? Somebody had better notify CA and Activision that they are losing sales revenue.
Here's the latest on Ebay.UK (http://search.ebay.co.uk/search/search.dll?MfcISAPICommand=GetResult&ht=1&SortProperty=MetaEndSort&cgiurl=http%3A%2F%2Fcgi.ebay.co.uk%2Fws%2F&query=medieval+total+war&ebaytag1code=3&shortcut=2&currdisp=1&maxRecordsReturned=300&maxRecordsPerPage=50&SortProperty=MetaEndSort)
Good luck andy, i know how frustrating this must be.

My suggestion, for anyone on a tight budget, who hasn't tried a Total War game, would be to pick up Shogun: Total War. Not sure what the price would be, but you surely could get it for LESS than US$30, probably LESS than US$20.
Just came from Best Buy, they had MTW for US$29.99 and Vikings for US$19.99. So, Shogun s/b quite a bit less, maybe US$10.00, check the bargain bins.
Shogun is the ORIGINAL and will give you lots of FUN for a long time, while you save up for the MTW/Vikings or ROME
If you go for Shogun, make sure you get Shogun: Total War - Warlord Edition (http://www.totalwar.com/community/warlord.htm)
GREAT older games that, for whatever reason, you haven't played before are the BEST bargains
