a glitch?

I was trying to build up one of my hiers so I put him into a lot of battles then when he had only 4 men including him in the unit, so I decided to train another unit and merge it with my heirs, sence I cant retrain heirs but all is going fine so far. So I end the turn and next time I look he is no longer an heir and all my heirs who were mature {there WERE 4 others} all had heart attacks and died suddenly. the only royalty left was my kind and heirs who wernt mature yet. has anyone had this happen before?

It's a glitch, I think. It happened to me before when I merge heir's unit with another and end up having the other general leading the unit in stead of the heir. Lost an heir for no reason. It can happen to other top rank generals' unit too. So, I never merge units that have good leaders. I retrain them in stead.

Are you sure you can't retrain heirs' unit? I do it all the times. AFAIK, only King's unit and Mercs can't be retrained.

Uncles wich would be the kings brothers are no longer legitamate heirs once a son is born but they should retain there loyal blood until your son comes of age

Did you still have the same King after the end of the turn? Because if your King died in the same turn, you could be left with a new King and none of his uncles as heirs. The interesting thing happens if all your heirs are the King's brothers Then you can have a new King that has matured in the same turn http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif He becomes King out of nowhere

I didnt look at the names to closly, I just wanted to know if it happened to anyone else or if it was just a freak accident =p thanx your replys are muchly appreciated.
