Konnichiwa,

There are problems with the current upload tools. I've installed a few others. The first has the benefit that multiple 2 mb chuncks can be loaded into the form and then submitted. This should make uploading many split zips more comfortable.
The first also has a rename option, I'm not sure whether one would want to use that and I wonder whether it wouldn't less confusing to remove it.

Evaluate them please and keep in mind that they're rough beta setups and don't contain all extra information/help yet.

Thanks in advance.

Konnichiwa,

I've tweaked the 1st uploadtool. Please try to upload a tiny file, I want to know whether it works for everyone.

Konnichiwa,

Any experiences?

I will have some experiences shortly. I wanted to post the mod at my site for a couple of days in case of any bugs.

The graphics portion of the mod is currently about 4.7 megs. Is the 2meg limit still in place? I would think that this is going to become a bigger and bigger problem as the larger projects like the Lordz come to fruition.

our host restricts us to 2MB uploads, this is to prevent someone uploading a multimegabyte junk file - some people like to play silly buggers,
i'd prefer a larger limit, i think 2MB is an anachronism now with 56K modems and cable access...

Fortunately the admins have full file access and can combine multiple zips into larger files for download

Thanks, Barocca.

Btw, the sign-up system for the forums is still messed up. It never sends the password confirmation email back to the user. This goes back to when your site was hacked last year, and happened to me when I signed up last November. I finally just tried to post and it worked.
I get messages every few days from people wanting to use the forums, but not doing so because they never get the confirmation.

Thanks WesW,

The testupload has been disabled, the betauploads for MTW has been re-implemented instead. I hope it works for you. It allows to load up to five 2 mb chuncks at once, so you can split a zip and quickly upload it. We will merge it again when posting the mod. Still far from optimal http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/frown.gif

The registration was indeed seriously messed up. Sendmail was broken due to a recent server upgrade, and the board was damaged due to a missing 'nothing'. It should be fixed since last week.

The com forum was hacked last year.
