VI campaign. the king finally had a son but he is 50 already and the kings youngest brother will turn 56 the same year that the son turns 16. Anyone know what will happen? will king die and i lose before the new prince takes over? or will succession occur ok? if it wont work, i will stop playing now and wait (hopefully not too much longer) for the patch.

I think that your new son will get the throne, as i think its like the King dies "late" in the turn but the prince "arrives" early.

Yep I reckon that Snowhobbit is quite right. Assassins also appear to happen at the end of the turn as I have often had the dead kings heir take over despite being told that the king had no heirs and his faction would become rebels. Bear in mind that the Germans, papacy and I believe the Russians cannot be wiped out in this fashion since they elect leaders rather than have heirs automatically take over. (sorry getting a bit off topic here)

thanks for the replies, looks like i can keep the campaign going, which is cool since i slaughtered the Mercians and king aethelwulf in their home province last night. just got to make sure i keep that younger brother safe. kudos to the queen pumping out that son in the knick of time.
