Does Nottingham specialize in it's education, or are we looking at Lit. majors?

'Twould be nice to see some Sandingham grads doing this http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif

Nottingham is supposed to in the top ten universities for history related courses, they have a good reputation. Unfortunately they don't really teach computer games in the middle of their archaeology courses.......

They do show the Asterix movies at Christams though http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif

Well somehow Prince Harry has got in to Sandhurst (It must be great being a royal, naff grades and STILL any education facility you want&#33http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/wink.gif. It would be very interesting to see them and maybe they will do an episode with these acadamy students having ago.

Maybe that battle with the 300 Spartans and the massive army (forgotten details) it'd be intresting to see them get out of that situation...

What you mean Xerxes and his "million" Persians??

Funny how most people forget the other 3 or 4 thousand greek hoplites that were fighting alongside the Spartans at Thermoplyae It wouldn't be a very interesting battle at all as no real manoevering (except for the immortals marching over the mountains into the rear of the Greeks) so just a straight up brawl between hoplites and the lighter persian infantry.

I'd love to see a recreation of Cannae. Have just read Wellington's post about his thoughts on the battle and the Roman deployment (a must read) and I would like to see if anybody could save the Romans from that debacle?

Possibly if they deploy the legions in a more sensible fashion, but the best option for Cannae is CTRL+W

Actually, using a computer engine, it might be relatively easy to wina Cannae as he Romans. A big part of the massacre was the politics behind who ws to command who and when, because there was no predefined command structure/switching off for such a large army. Take that away and you have a fighting chance.

Sounds like someone intelligent, but this is past.
